Chishiya's POV...
The King of Diamonds. I almost smirked at where the game was being held. It was laughable really. Yet it was intriguing. I wondered how this game would work. But I also wondered about the safety of my wife. She'll be okay, she has to be.
She squeezed my hand as if sensing my unease, "We'll be fine Shuntaro." Optimistically speaking. She could be snarky and scared. But beneath it all she was optimistic about things, about us. I loved that about her, even if I didn't want to admit that.
I gently squeezed her hand back and led her into the Supreme Court, The King of Diamonds game. We entered and saw other people there. All in a circle. We joined them and sat down.
There was a screen in the middle with numbers on it. This game would be tricky, but if we played the game right, we'd make it out together like we always have. I stared down Kuzuryu and looked him over. Never would have suspected him.
"Fascinating. So you were the King of Diamonds, all along. The Beach executive. Former number two. Kuzuryu." I said stating all the things he's been. But something was bugging me, "Why was the King of Diamonds at the Beach?" He looked stone-faced and slightly lifted his head.
"I was curious." He stated matter of factly.
I smirked, "Undercover, then." The phones went off. Guess that's the end of my fun.
DIFFICULTY, KING OF DIAMONDS.
GAME: BEAUTY CONTEST
Kuzuryu shifted slightly, "Let us begin." His voice commanded around us and I stole a glance at my wife. Her eyes turned dark like steel. She was preparing herself. I felt pride in that moment, she was getting ready for something bad to happen, for people, perhaps one of us to die.
RULES: CONTESTANTS HAVE THREE MINUTES TO CHOOSE A NUMBER BETWEEN ZERO AND 100. THE ADVERAGE OF THE NUMBERS SELECTED IS MULTIPLIED BY 0.8. THE PERSON WHO CHOSE THE NUMBER CLOSEST TO THAT RESULT IS THE WINNER.
A guy who kept moving his fingers spoke up, "Multiply the average value of what we all choose by 0.8."
A guy in the blue and white striped shirt spoke up next, "Whoever's number is closest to that result is the winner." They must be idiots if they're repeating the rules. It's self-explanatory.
"Hmm?" A girl in orange said as if confused. "Multiply the average by 0.8. Why 0.8? What does 0.8 mean?"
"I get it." Striped shirt said. "Multiplying the average by the fixed 0.8 disrupts the scale balance. That's why it's a game." Guess he's a little smart after all.
"0.8 is a drop. A single drop straight from heaven." Realization hit Y/n's eyes for a second before it vanished.
ONE POINT WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM THE FIVE LOSERS, AND THE ROUND IS CONCLUDED. WHEN A PLAYER REACHES NEGATIVE 10 POINTS, THEY WILL RECEIVE A GAME OVER. THE LAST TWO PLAYERS STANDING WILL CLEAR THE GAME. HOWEVER, EVERY TIME SOMEONE IS ELIMINATED, A NEW RULE IS ADDED.
"A new rule? What's with that?" The girl in orange asked.
"And nobody's explaining these scales," I stated.
"They're probably what is referred to as a game over," Y/n said. I didn't say anything, but that was the most reasonable answer.
ROUND 1, START
As everyone began to pick out a number I looked at them. When I got to Y/n I noticed she was looking at me. I looked down at my screen and selected a number, 32. Then I looked back up at her, and she looked down at her screen and picked a number.
