It's past midnight, when the maid of Jiang Manor happened to pass the western courtyard and found it open again. She's returning from outside after meeting with her lover at the river, when she heard the sounds of giggles and laughter coming from the western side of the manor. She pushed the door open and saw Yi Sun laughing and running around the tree, and asked the other person to catch him.
"Young Master?" The maid asked in horror. She couldn't see anyone with him at this hour.
"Li Mei!" Yi Sun called her back. "Come, and play hide and seek with us!"
Then the boy turned to his left and said, "Can she play with us too?"
"There's no one young Master!" The maid spoke, horrified. She ran to pick Yi Sun in her arms and carried him out of the courtyard. That night, she locked herself in the room and wrote to her lover that she could no longer stay at the Jiang Manor, and had to leave that place.
'There's something wrong with the young master.'
A week later, Li Mei was found dead near the riverside with a letter and money in her belongings. She had stolen money from the Jiang Manor, and decided to elope with her lover to another village. She was with his child, Madam Jiang concluded ,and was to meet him by the river at night, but the man didn't show up and she ended up taking her life with her unborn child out of shame and betrayal.
