Lord Boremund was the son of Roger Baratheon and Alyssa Targaryen. It is undocumented how Boremund passed.
Youth: Boremund was the eldest son of Lord Rogar Baratheon and Dowager Queen Alyssa Velaryon. Alyssa announced her pregnancy with Boremund in 51 AC. As she was forty-four years old at the time and thought to be well beyond her child-bearing years, the pregnancy was received as a miracle, with the High Septon himself proclaiming it a blessing from the gods. Boremund was born in early 52 AC. Boremund was named by his father. His mother never completely recovered from his birth, and died two years later, giving birth to Boremund's sister Jocelyn. In late 58 AC, Boremund attended the tourney at King's Landing commemorating the tenth anniversary of the king's coronation, alongside his father and sister. When the Shivers struck the Seven Kingdoms in 59 AC, both Boremund and Jocelyn were stricken but recovered.
The relationship between Boremund's father Rogar and uncle, Ser Borys, Rogar's former heir, deteriorated after Boremund's birth. While Rogar's health declined, Borys left the stormlands and by 61 AC had made common cause with the Vulture King in the Red Mountains. Fearing for Boremund's safety after his death, Roger requested King Jaehaerys I Targaryen to watch over Boremund, while sending Boremund's sister and cousins to King's Landing to serve as wards of the king. Half a year after Rogar and King Jaehaerys fought against the Vulture Kind and Borys in the Third Dornish War, defeating their enemies, Rogar died at Storm's End with Boremund by his side.
Lord of Storm's End: Boremund inherited the titles of Lord of Storm's End and Lord Paramount of the Stormlands from his father. Due to his young age, his uncle Ser Garon served as his regent and guardian. In 73 AC, Ser Lucamore Strong of the Kingsguard was disgraced for having broken his vows by fathering children and having families. The knight's third wife and her young children were sent to Storm's End to be fostered by Boremund and Ser Garon.
In 80 AC, Lord Boremund was raised as a potential suitor for Princess Daella Targaryen by Queen Alysanne, selected for his wealth and high birth. Daella's good relationship with Boremund's sister, Jocelyn, was believed to be much in his favor. However, Daella eventually chose Lord Rodrik Arryn for her husband.
King Jaehaerys and Boremund learned that Prince Morion Martell of Dorne sought to land at Cape Wrath and invade the storm lands half a year before the Dornish prince attempted his invasion. When Morion finally sailed for the stormlands in 83 AC, Boremund awaited him on Cape Wrath with his army. However, the Dornish fleet was burned by Jaehaerys and his sons with their dragons before they ever came ashore. In 92 AC, Boremund crossed to Tarth to join forces with Lord Cameron Tarth against the invading Myrish pirates. After the death of Prince Aemon Targaryen, Boremund and Lord Cameron Tarth repelled the Myrmen from the island together with Aemon's brother, Prince Baelon, and his dragon Vhagar. With Prince Aemon dead, Jaehaerys announced that his new heir was his second son Prince Baelon, rather than Aemon's daughter and Boremund's niece Princess Rhaenys. Both Boremund and his sister Jocelyn were angered by the king's decision. When Baelon died in 101 AC, Jaehaerys convened a Great Council to decide the matter of succession. Boremund gave his support to Princess Rhaenys and her young son, Laenor Velaryon, but eventually, Baelon's son Viserys was named heir
Legacy: Boremund had at least one son, Borros, who succeeded him as Lord of Storm's End, and gave him four granddaughters and one grandson. When the succession crisis after Viserys's death escalated into the Dance of the Dragons, it was believed that Borros would support the side of Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen, as Boremund had been a staunch supporter of Princess Rhaenys and her son, Rhaenyra's late husband Ser Laenor Velaryon. However, Lord Borros was infuriated by Rhaenyra's assumption of House Baratheon's support and sided with the claim of King Aegon II Targaryen.
