Losing control

The truth

Selena POV :

"Selena.... I..."

She didn't know what to say or maybe she had decided to put a line in our relationship but she didn't know how to break it to me. She must have been trying to find the right words... I was going to lose everything any minute now.

Demi snapped me out of my thoughts when she pressed her lips to mine. What was that? She was kissing me. Now I didn't understand anything. Maybe it was a goodbye kiss...

I didn't want to let her go, I wanted to stay in this position for the rest of my life. Her lips were so soft and her vanilla scent transported me into her world.

She lifted her lips from mine and looked intensely into my eyes. I was nervous.

"Selena... I've... I've resigned."

"What...? Why have you...? And what's that mean"

"I love you and I'm sick of hiding. I'd rather lose everything than lose you. I choose you, you and your jealousy, you and your weirdness, you and only you. "

"Demi... I... I promise none of this will ever happen again."

I was on cloud nine. The love we had for each other was stronger than anything and no one could take that away from us.

"You won't have to camp outside my house any more... I want you to move in with me. That is, if you agree."

"It's a yes ! Of course it's a yes ! I said, jumping up and kissing her forehead.

Demi POV:

I could only listen to my heart and for once lose control. I love her and even though I still have questions about her behaviour, I didn't want to break everything we had for this. It's nothing we couldn't fix. I wanted us to live together, and to finally be able to live out our romance in front of the world.

"What do you say we shower and go for a walk around town?" "Selena nodded and we both jumped into the shower.

I washed her hair and she did the same for me.Her hands in my hair, then sliding down my spine to land on my bottom. Her kisses on the back of my neck, her "I love you's" in my ear... We stayed in the shower for a good half hour. It was soft, romantic and exactly what we needed.

The walk into town was perfect. We could hold hands, kiss and go wherever we wanted without worrying about who we might meet or how people would look at us. Selena was glowing.

"No, no! That's my ice cream" said Selena as I tried to bite into her cone.
"I've finished mine... please let me have a taste" I said, pouting.

Selena rolled her eyes.

"I can't refuse you anything, when you look at me like that! "

"When I look at you how... ?" I said as I continued my game, licking Selena's ice cream before kissing her.

"hmmm the best flavour of ice cream I've ever had" I winked at Selena and she laughed.

"Well... I'm going to have to go home, I left yesterday saying I was going to get some fresh air and I'm afraid my parents have already called the police" Selena said half laughing and half serious.

"Can I give you a lift... ?" "You... you want to tell them? " hm.. why not, you've graduated, I've resigned and they know you're a lesbian. There's nothing holding us back." "That's okay then."

"Selena! Where have you been? We've been bloody worried. Demi... what are y...?" Said Selena's father.

"We've got something to tell you."

"Oh my gosh, not again!" Selena's mum shouted.

"Sit down," asked Selena.

We were in front of them and I had never felt as nervous as I did now.

"I wanted to clarify something with you" "We wanted to clarify something... " "I... I'm in love with your daughter. I love Selena.... We met before I started working with you and...

"That's not possible... I..." Selena's father couldn't believe his eyes.

"See? I told you it was her fault!" Selena's mum said pointing at me.
"If you mean that thanks to her I'm happier and I'm finally smiling at life: then yes, it's all thanks to her and that she came into my life".

My mother laughed at me and my father stepped in.

"I... I don't understand... your... "relationship' - how long has that been going on?" David asked.

"Well, it's... almost 6 months now"

"6 months!!! And so that's why you decided to quit?"

"Partly, yes... I didn't want to risk losing Selena" I said, taking Selena's hand in mine.

"It's... it's too much for me. I can't stand here and watch the devil's work in front of me! Do something David."

"I just... I... Selena go up to your room" David asked.

"No. Anything you have to say in front of Demi I get to listen to"

"Selena... "I said, letting her know that she'd better listen to her parents.

"I thought you were my friend. My colleague. And now I find out you've converted my daughter to your disease? I want you to leave my daughter and never go near her again, is that understood?"

"David... I" "No, end of conversation. You'd better leave and never come back".

I sped off before escalating the situation any further. I sat in the car, crying and turning on the music.

My phone rang, it was Selena.

From Selena:

I heard everything. Wait for me, I'll go out by the fire escape. I've packed my bag

Maybe it wasn't such a good idea, but after all, Selena was over 18 and the police couldn't arrest us for being in love. I was shocked, the words of Selena's parents reminded me of those of my adoptive parents. How could anyone be so cold-hearted and cruel ?

"You're here," I said relieved, opening the car door for Selena.

"Yes, and for good. I'm not leaving you any more. Go on, before they realise I'm gone."

"I love it when you break the rules for me."
