Selena POV :

I don't know if it was the loss of my father or simply my lack of self-confidence. But I found it hard to believe that Demi hadn't gone elsewhere while I was staying with my mother. After what Mr Valderrama had told me and seeing her take so much pleasure from him, I wanted to smash everything.

I couldn't stand seeing him in the corridors and gardens of the university. I had the impression that they were hiding something from me. That maybe she was having a secret relationship with him and I was being tricked. I needed to eliminate him.

I'd started tracking him a few days ago and I'd also installed a GPS to locate Demi's phone anywhere. He often went to this bar and stayed there for an hour or two before going home, always accompanied by a different young woman.

I'd looked in Demi's phone and he'd sent her a message recently but she hadn't replied.

He asked her to meet him tonight in his flat. I agreed. I was going to go in Demi's place and tell him to leave her alone.

"Where are you going, love?" said Demi, looking at me from head to toe. "Oh I completely forgot to tell you but I'm going to the cinema with Karl tonight" "okay... take care. I love you" "I love you too"

------

It was dark and stormy, but I'd decided to take the road on foot. I had more time to think about what I wanted to say to him like that.

I'd brought something to defend myself just in case.... You never know. He's a sports teacher after all... and he was pretty strong.

When I got to the front of his building I started to hesitate, but thirsting for revenge I decided to go along with the plan.

When he opens the door, he's confused and disappointed not to have Demi in front of him. I leave him no choice but to let me in.

He had prepared a dinner and put out candles on the table. I started laughing. Pathetic. He thought he could have her like that. Or maybe they were already something?

"What are you doing here?" "Isn't it obvious? I came to ask you to stop fucking my girlfriend" "Okay... I don't know what Demi told you but there's nothing going on between us... unfortunately for me" "I don't believe you. Especially people like you who think they're irresistible" "A bit like Demi you mean?" He smiled stupidly. "Don't you talk about her. Don't you dare send her any more messages or try to see her again. She doesn't belong to you, okay? She'll never be yours, so leave us alone and go back to your seedy life." "Wow, you're scaring me," he said mockingly. I clenched my fists tightly and grabbed my purse. "Relax, I understand, you don't want to lose her. Apart from her who'd want a madwoman like you. I say that but... does she know you're here? That you talk about her like she's something that belongs to you? I doubt your mistress would like that".

This time it was too much, he really wanted to push me too far. He smirked.

"Shut up!!!" I said, covering my ears. I had to think. Demi should never find out I'd come here.

"You'd better get out of my home before I call the police," he said as he stood up.

I was panicking. What if Demi found out about it and left me? What if she got involved with him and I ended up alone for the rest of my life? It couldn't happen. I couldn't live away from her, I'd end up dying slowly.

"Get rid of him" voices shout in my head. I try to fight but as I see him getting closer to me, I imagine him sleeping with Demi and that's too much. I grabbed the knife I'd brought from my bag and without further hesitations, stabbed him in the neck. He couldn't have anticipated my movement because his back was to me, trying to open the door to get me away. He immediately fell to the ground and began to suffocate. His blood spilled onto the floor and my converse shoes turned red.

After waiting for Wilmer to bleed to death, I put his body in a rug and mopped it up. I'd never have the strength to move him. He was far too heavy.

I took a bottle of alcohol, emptied it into the flat and lit a match before leaving. There'd be no trace of my visit now.

I pressed the fire alarm and ran at full speed as far as I could.

Just when I thought I was going to panick, I was actually relieved. I even took pleasure in seeing his blood dripping onto the floor. He could never steal MY DEMI again.

A crazy desire went through my mind. I could do that with Sophia too. Since Demi's threats she'd left us alone, but after all, she deserved this for blackmailing Demi.

I'd found the solution to all my problems. No one could ever come between me and Demi again. Or they'd suffer the consequences.

--------

For a week now, Wilmer's death has been all over the news. I wouldn't have thought so many people would be interested.

"It's horrible, they're saying he was killed by a madman just before he set fire to his flat," said a horrified Demi.

"Yes, he must have had a problem with the wrong person," I said quickly.

"We live in a really dangerous world... he was still young and... we really have to be more careful when we go out".

"Luckily, you've got me to protect you," I said, sticking close to Demi. She simply nodded and let me snuggle up to her.

I will protect her at all costs.
