They went into her room to check on her, but Gguk said Ji wasn't allowed near any of the blood and if she saw any, she wasn't allowed to touch it. She understood his reasoning, but she didn't like it.
They tried waking her up, and checking for other injuries, and for cause of injury too. Gguk was worried whatever happened to her arm cut a major vein, and she'd bled out. He took a few steps back and away, do the smart thing and call a doctor.
Splat.
Splat.
Splat.
The splatting of blood dripping onto the floor stopped. And deeming it was silence other than that, it was noticeable. He turned around to see what was happening.
Jieun was sat on the floor, cupping her hands, stopping it from dripping onto the floor. She went directly against what he just said, letting it fall onto her hands.
"Jieun!"
She ignored him, or maybe she didn't hear him. He didn't even know if she was there. Her body might be on autopilot and she's not there. He's experienced it, watching all of it happen from third person while his body is on autopilot. Maybe she's watching and not doing.
He put the phone down since no one was answering and went to Jieun.
"Jieun get up, I said no blood on your hands"
"it was already there"
"Get up, now"
"I don't like the sound"
"Jieun I said get up, do you not realise how disgusting and horrific this is?"
She was literally sat there, letting blood fall into her cupped hands. That WAS disgusting and horrific, any normal person could say that. But she didn't budge, and she had quite the pool of blood in her hands now. He grabbed her shoulder, pulling her away, and pulling one of her arms to seperate her hands.
"Go wash your hands"
He wasn't acting like the last person they had left was potentially dead. He wasn't acting like he was watching his little sister go insane over grief yet again. He was acting like he didn't know this person, and he didn't want her near any of this 'disgusting' stuff.
But Ji did go, and wash her hands. She had to wash the blood off her hands. The blood that was actually there and wasn't. Water. Soap. Water. More soap. Rub your hands together. More. More soap. Scrub your hands. More soap. Scrub them more. More soap. Scrub them more.
"Jieun"
He came in and turned the tap off. She looked at her hands. Blood. Still. He also looked at them. Red. Almost scrubbed raw. She dried her hands and walked past him, into Miss Hwanae's room. He followed her.
She sat on her bed next to her, holding her other hand. It was cold and grey. It made Jieun realise she really was gone, she's probably bled out. She held her hand with both of her hands, hunching over and crying. She held her hand to her forehead, sobbing and heaving against it.
"Jieun let go, she's dead"
"No she-"
"You're holding onto a corpse Jieun, let go"
She couldn't believe him. This was their last chance to see her. And he was treating her as a corpse? Just some dead person? Like he was disgusted Ji could go near it. As if this wasn't the same woman who they said I love you to this morning.
"Jieun"
"No she's..Miss Hwanae.."
"She's dead, and even if she isn't, the doctor's not answering"
