The four genin surrounded Tazuna. Your dark eyes scanned the area, but it was no use. Zabuza's technique had spawned in a thick fog. And although your vision was incredibly limited, you could feel his presence nearby.

"The mist.. it's getting thicker and thicker." Naruto noted. He was right, as if it wasn't hard enough to see already. You frowned, not enjoying this one bit. You noticed movement in the corner of your eye and quickly turned your head to look over.

It was just Sasuke, which had put you at ease. But what was he shivering for? 'Is Sasuke cold? .. No, that can't be it.. he must be scared!' You shook your head, dismissing these thoughts. "You okay?" You asked straight forwardly, turning to face away from him once again.

Sasuke didn't even acknowledge you. But It wasn't by choice, as per usual. He was so caught up in his own head he hadn't even noticed you spoke to him. Sasuke began raising his kunai with both his hands wrapped around it.

"Sasuke!" Kakashi called out suddenly, "Calm down. I'll protect you with my life. All of you." He then turned to look back at you five. "I will not allow my comrades to die. Trust me." His eye shut, but you could only assume he was smiling behind his mask.

His reassurance had calmed everyone down a bit. "I wouldn't be so sure." Zabuza said. Before you could pinpoint where his voice had came from, he appeared between you, and the bridge builder. Everyone's mouths fell open in shock. "It's over." He said.

In an instant, Kakashi flashed towards you, he shoved you out the way to tackle Zabuza. Your shoes scraped against the dirt, as you steadied yourself so you wouldn't fall over. Sakura, and Naruto weren't able to do the same.

The sound of water pouring onto the ground broke the silence. You cautiously looked around, trying to locate the source. Only to realize, it was actually coming from Zabuza. You lowered your shoulders, easing up a bit. 'Kakashi stabbed him.. So, are we done..?' You wondered.

Your brows furrowed, 'Could it be, his blood is pure water?' You then bit your lip, 'Wait! It has to be a!-'

"Sensei!" You gasped out, your arms hopelessly falling to your sides, "Behind you!" Naruto shouted. Zabuza was revealed, meaning what Kakashi had attacked was a mere water clone. "Die!" Zabuza swung his heavy sword, slicing Kakashi's body in half like butter.

Thankfully, Kakashi managed to replicate his jutsu. Leaving everyone dumbfounded, while his body turned into a puddle. The real Kakashi held a kunai to his neck. "Don't move." He ordered. He stood so nonchalantly, and didn't look winded at all! "It's over." Kakashi repeated what Zabuza had previously said.

Sakura let out a nervous giggle, relieved that your sensei had the upper hand now. "How many more surprise clones will we be tortured with.." You whined, a small frown tugging at the corners of your lips.

Zabuza let out a few dark chuckles. "You really don't get it, do you?" he remained still. "Your technique is nothing but a crass imitation. I'll never be defeated by a mere copy cat ninja like you." He laughed once more. "You are full of surprises though. You'd already copied my water clone jutsu, back when you made your little speech. Very skillfully executed, you made your clone say those words, to draw my attention.. While you hid in the mist, waiting for me to make my move." He broke down the entire scene.

Yet ANOTHER Zabuza showed up. "Nice try, but im not easy to fool." Once again he tried using his sword, but his attack was dodged. Zabuza narrowed his eyes, he spun around, using the momentum of his swing to throw a kick.

Kakashi was flung into the air, and your opponent followed after him into the river. "Sensei!" Naruto called out.

"Protect the bridge builder!" You barked out instructions, everyone shifted their gaze towards you. "Are you crazy? We just tried that! And he still slipped in!" Sakura argued from the ground. "What other choice do we have..!?" You said as you hurried towards Tazuna, soon standing in front of him with your kunai raised defensively. "I'm prepared to die here, like a ninja."

On the outside, you looked strong, and gathered. You fooled Sakura and Naruto with your facade. But Sasuke could tell you were scared, he could see it in your wavering eyes. He let out a grunt.

"You heard her." He stood behind Tazuna now. "Our mission is to keep him safe. We have to give it our all!" Your words managed to convince your other teammates. They hesitantly followed along with your plan.

All the while, Tazuna felt guilt wash over him. He felt horrible for sending puny genins, and their sensei into deaths arms.

All he could do was hope they could put up a fight.
