Nightmare

Red's Pov:

"I almost got it." I said to Chloe while reaching for the book not aware for what's happening behind my back.

"Red the swords..." Chloe said to me making me look at her the book falling at the process. Chloe tries to pull put her sword on time while Red starts coming down from the ladder.

I was unable to get down the ladder quickly enough. Just as she was looking at me, I saw the blade passing through her body.

"Red."

I was able to catch her just in time, laying her body gently on my lap as it was about to touch the ground.

I sobbed and put my hand on Chloe's body to attempt to stop the bleeding. "Hey, hey, don't fall asleep, please, Chloe. I still need you."  I didn't realize a tear had escaped until Chloe placed her palm on my cheek and wiped it.

"It's okay—NO, IT'S NOT OKAY. THIS IS ALL OF MY FAULT."

All she could do was grin, which did not cheer me up.

"I love you, Red, so please live your life for me."

Her pulse then slowly stopped and the life in her eyes began to fade.

I buried my face in her neck and cried, "No, no, Chloe, wake up, please."

"I love you too."

Chloe's Pov:

I was walking in the wall about to go to Red's Room but when I arrived I hear someone sobbing inside. "Red? are you alright what's happening?" Then I quickly pulled put a spare key and opens the door. Upon seeing her condition, I was anxious, so I hurried to shut the door and head over to her. I tried to console her, saying, "Hey, hey, calm down, Red, I'm here," but to my amazement, she gave me a quick hug. I tried to console her by giving her a back rub. I played with her hair, knowing she would like it, and said, "Wanna tell me what happened?"

"Nightmare," She said, her voice muffled because of my hair, but I still managed to hear her. "Wanna talk about it? Or do you need something to calm down?" I asked, but I felt her shaking her head.

"No, please, I just need you." She said, which made me smile, so I slowly lay down on her bed while still hugging her tight.

"I'm here, Red. I'm not going to leave you."
