"The greatest enemy of any one of our truths may be the rest of our truths"

—  William James

Rosemary was in the kitchen eating a piece of toast while Meredith was making herself some breakfast and stirring her coffee when Derek walked into the kitchen.

"There's coffee" Meredith told Derek walking over to the table sitting down.

Derek sat down his bag down and walked over to the table and sat down with Meredith.

"I'm gonna go get ready for work" Rosemary said and walked out of the kitchen not sparing them a glance, and walked to her room so she could get ready for work.

Rosemary was standing in Joyce's room with Mark, Lexie, and her nephews, and niece.

"Hi, Dr. Sloan. These are Aunt Joyce's nephews-- my brothers Tobin and Luke. They flew in early this morning. Dr. Sloan did the surgery"

"I'm sorry. Your aunt is very sick. There's not much more we can do for her. Probably time to say your good-byes" Mark said.

"Do you mean, like, say our good-byes now or sometime in the next 24 hours? I mean, what kind of time frame are we talking about?"

"24 hours seems unlikely" Mark said with a little sigh.

"You sure? Because I have a flight to catch in the morning. And if I wait past noon... I can't change it"

"I actually need to be on a plane tonight. Board meeting tomorrow. So do you think she'll die before tomorrow?"

Rosemary rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest and gave the two nephews a little glare.

Rosemary was paged into Joyce's room and grabbed the defibrillator, and pressed them to Joyce's chest. "Clear"

"This might be it"

"From your lips to God's ears"

"Charge to 360. Clear" Rosemary said and then heard the monitor start beeping again so she took yhr defibrillator away.

Joyce then starts to groan and cough.

"Oh, for the love of God"

Rosemary then turned and glared at him slightly. "Hey, you know how many people are in this hospital right now waiting, hoping that their loved one might actually live? You're a bunch of vultures"

"But we're not"

"Aunt Joyce was given one month to live three years ago. And we were crushed, and we held her hand at her bedside for weeks, and we said our tearful good-byes, and then..." Tobin said with a laugh. "Well... she stabilized"

"She's been in and out of the hospital once a month. Each time, we jump on a plane, sit by her bed, say our good-byes all over again, and each time, she winds up getting better"
