“Who’s a cute little baby? You are! Yes, you are! You’re the cutest little baby. And for that, you deserve kisses. So many kisses! Mwah, mwah, mwah!”
Dawn cuts into the chilled mango float and takes two long, twin, slices. She places them on a peach, porcelain plate and sets it down on the table. Next, she replaces the cover of the pyrex containing the mango float, puts it back in the freezer, and gently closes the fridge. She then picks up her plate and walks back to the living room.
“You’re the cutest little baby I’ve ever seen!” Sig continues to coo at the little orange ball of fur.
Dawn sits back on the soft couch and places her plate on her lap. Sig gives the orange fluff one last kiss and straightens up. He returns to the couch, plopping next to her.
“Care to share?” he says, already smiling.
Dawn pretends to huff but cuts into a long slice and spears it with her fork. The orange floofball jumps up from the floor and curls up on Sig’s lap. Dawn raises the piece of mango float to Sig and he opens his mouth to take it.
“Mmmmmmm….” Sig hums as he chews, leaning back on the cushions.
Dawn spears another piece and eats it. She looks down at the orange handsome boi on Sig’s lap. Mango. Dawn thinks.
Mango gives her a slow blink.
