A/N: So I skipped a few months for time sake and this is more a filler but hopefully it's not too boring.

Connor's POV

"Happy birthday babe," Kasie said when I opened my eyes. She had climbed on top of me and was peering at me. I groaned, never being a fan of getting older although I was in my early thirties. Why can't I stay in my twenties forever?
"Can you get off of me?" I asked, her still straddling my middle. She was fully dressed and ready for the day. I turned my head to see the time on the digital clock on the dresser display 12:20. She shook her head and leaned down to place a lingering kiss to my lips.
"Where's Skylar?" I asked, quirking an eyebrow.
"I dropped her off at Quinn's. She's staying the day there and they're dropping her off tomorrow morning, remember?" Kasie climbed off me and sat cross-legged as she spoke.
"Oh yeah," I said, remembering when Sky had asked about it a week or so ago. I finally sat up and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes.
"Go shower, you smell," Kasie said, kicking me. I rolled my eyes but got out of bed after she Kasie basically shoved me off the bed with her feet because I was moving "too slow".
"You love me," I smiled at Kasie. She playfully huffed but smiled.
"Correct."
"Babe, come shower with me," I said, a hint of pleading in my voice once I had gotten clothes to change into after my shower.
"I already showered. Maybe later," Kasie winked.
"At least sit in the bathroom with me."
"Fine," Kasie sat on the edge of the bathtub in the master bathroom. I stripped down and went to turn on the shower.
"You have a beautiful body, don't ever forget that," Kasie complimented right before I stepped in the shower.
"I know," I smiled--even though she couldn't see it--like the cocky little shit I can be.
"Connor?"
"Yes?"
"I hate you."
"I love you too honey."

"So where are we going?" I ask, my vision dark by the blindfold I was forced to wear.
"Can't tell you that unfortunately," I could tell by her tone that she wasn't sorry. "Now hush, we're almost there." I could hear people bustling around me. "Now, stop," Kasie removed the blindfold and once my vision had re-focused I saw we were stood in front of the pet shop in the mall.
"Are we getting a new kitten?" I asked, saying the first thing that came to mind.
"If you want. I mean it was gonna be one of your birthday presents but I didn't know which kitten to get so I figured I'd let you pick him or her out." I looked at her like she'd lost her mind then took her hand and nearly dragged her into the shop, going to where all the kittens were kept.

---

"Aww, she's cute," I cooed at the kitten the worker handed to me. "It's a she, right?" The worker nodded. The kitten was an orange tabby and she had white paws that made it look like she was wearing snow boots and she had a small patch of white on one of her ears. I scratched behind the kitten's ear, making her purr loudly in response.

"She likes you," The worker said when the kitten started to nibble on my finger when I went to scratch under her chin.
"I love her," I said. "Can I take her home?" I looked at the worker.
'You can. Did you need anything else?" I shook my head and handed the orange cat back to the worker, detaching the claw that had hooked itself to the front of my shirt. We followed the worker to the registrar and Kasie paid as the worker placed the small cat in in a cardboard kennel type box. I took the "kennel" and thanked the worker before leaving the shop.
"Any name suggestions?" Kasie asked in the car, turning her blinker on as she switched lanes. The small cat was sat on my lap but still in the cardboard carrier.
"Well, one did pop into my head when I was holding her."
"Yeah? What was it?" Kasie turned her head to look at me briefly then back at the road.
"Luna."
"That's pretty," Kasie nodded. "It suits her."
"You think so?" I wasn't entirely convinced by her response.
"I do." I smiled and placed my left hand on her thigh, my other hanging onto the cardboard carrier.
"Alright little one, we're here," I told the orange kitten when I picked up the carrier after Kasie had parked the car in our garage. "Let's go meet your housemate," me talking about our 11-year old cat, Aribelle. Once I was in the living room I set the carrier down on the floor, opened it and picked up the small cat, setting her down on the carpet. Aribelle had woken up from her nap when we'd came in. She lifted her head and watched the orange kitten curiously before finally hopping down from her place at the top of the couch to check out the new addition.
She sniffed at the two-month old kitten curiously then sat down, watching for a reaction. Luna came up to the older cat and sniffed before reaching a tiny paw up to almost tap the taller cat's nose. Aribelle meowed then laid down, still watching the tiny kitten, still unsure of what to think of her new housemate.
