Maddox
JamesThe truck was opened to reveal nothing.
I was livid as I kicked my expensive boot on Dalton's stomach, that smart prick adjusted the code to one use only, it was hopeless trying to open it without the correct numbers.
Once we got the code out of him by a good shove and kick, he told us only to find an empty space in the truck.
"You thought I was an easy catch, didn't you?" He sputtered out with bloody smirk. His teeth were all smudged my his own blood.
I didn't show him he got me as I crouched down and spat on his face, his smirk turned upside down as he moved his head to get rid of my spit.
"Well, Bonnie's mom is with you." He was perplexed when I knew this information. It seemed to get under his skin, nerve by nerve. "My men are in your house right now, getting the fucking tramp out."
"Don't talk about my wife like that." He sneered.
"Ah! What a nice household you got there." I smiled wide as I hit a nerve when I lifted his head with one finger.
"You won't get away with this." He seethed as he twisted his legs to get rid of the tight rope. My car looked excellent with his head on it as the rest of his body was bent on the concrete.
"You can always have a shortcut, give us the real truck and we will let your whore out." I bargained as his stance resolved to a scare. He knew that I was winning, it showed on him like sweat beads to the forehead.
"No."
"Wrong choice, buddy." I got my hands on his shirt and his jacket until I found something downwards, behind his belt.
It was a golden key with a code written on it.
"You will never find the truck." He screamed behind me as I took my phone out to get more information about the location.
After the small talk with Andrew, one of my men, I showed him my real face as I told him something vile to his ears, "your dear wife told us where your truck is. It was behind Victoria's house, that was why you tried to damage it, to make us leave without finding the gold and the weapons." I scoffed at him and bashed his head on my car.
"You think everything goes your way." He laughed as the shots were heard from behind me.
"Maddox, they are getting away." Reign's voice echoed as I focused on the men that ran as I took my gun out and picked them one by one, all that training definitely didn't go to waste.
Dalton's hands went around my neck as his men surrounded me, I hated the malice that came out of that wimp of a man. I elbowed him in the ribs as my boot kicked his thigh to get him off of me as I ducked when the pistol sound had gone off.
I breathed hard as I pinned him and the men neared me but ended up flat on the floor with Reign's amazing aim. One of the pistol seared my side arm, I was going to be fine as one of the agent wrapped a cloth around the wound tightly, my eyes looked scary to him.
"Say cheese." The deranged laugh with the sound of his scream was my release when the blood sprinkled through his neck. It was an eternal high I couldn't get out of my system.
"We don't need him anymore." Andrew mentioned as they appeared with a tattered lady that had a scowl on her face.
"Nice to see you, mother-in-law." I greeted her with arms wide open, she tried to stay away as I forced her into hug.
"Dalton!" She cried out to the lifeless body that had a half open neck.
I rolled my eyes at the theatrics. There was a lot of resemblance when it came down to her facial features, but there was still a slight difference.
The men inspected the other truck and we reached the target we wanted. I kept the cloth as my blood seeped and I was starting to get nauseous.
Reign sat me down on the chair that was surrounded by dead men and sweat dripped down my body at the immense action.
The morning sun casted a gentle, golden hue across the landscape, painting the sky in soft shades of pink and orange. Its warm rays pierced through the cool morning mist mixed with the smoke that came out of our guns.
I didn't want to call Bonnie this early, I was sure that she was sleeping but I missed her as I watched the morning light. It was seven am and we had a lot of stuff to do with the shipment, at least, we would get money out of it.
The lady's cries were giving me a headache and I hated headaches as I stood up and her screams heightened when I pointed my gun at her, then remembered Bonnie and thought it was best if I didn't shoot her brains out.
Maybe she would want to see her mom.
"Keep her locked in the car." I ordered Andrew, he strictly nodded and went away with the woman.
Reign got a call and I gave him a questioning glance only for him to be baffled at what he heard on the phone. It was enough to make me reach up to him in full strides.
"What is it? Spit it out!" I shouted, I was in a cranky mood due to the loss of sleep for two whole days.
A smile tugged on his lips, "well, you're going to be a dad."
I clenched his shirt, getting him closer to me, as I spoke. "What the fuck did you just say?"
"They called me from the house, you're going to be a father." He announced and I let him go as if I had been electrocuted.
"No fucking way."
