Radha Amma
Part 2
The temple wasn't very large and was close to Rahul's house. When Rahul arrived, it was empty.
Looking at the idol of Lord Krishna, Rahul cried out, "Lord Krishna, why did you call my Amma to you? Grandma said you already have two mothers with you, but I only had one, and you took her away from me. Why did you do this to me? I will only drink this milk from my Amma's hands. Here, take it. I don't want it. You drink it, but give me back my Amma! Radha Maiya here is just like my Amma."
Pausing and crying with anger, Rahul continued, "If you don’t return my Amma to me, then… then I will take your Radha Rani away from you! She is your dearest, isn’t she? Do you understand what I’m saying?"
Saying this, Rahul stomped out of the temple.
Every morning, Rahul offered his share of milk to Lord Krishna, accompanied by the threat: "Return my Amma, or I will take Radha Maiya away with me."
This continued for a week. Rahul wept day and night, missing his mother, and had stopped playing altogether. His father and grandmother were deeply worried about his condition.
A week later, Rahul went to the temple in a rage and said, "What do you think of yourself? You think I will stay silent if you take my Amma away? Today, I will take Radha Maiya with me. Then you will understand the pain of being separated from someone you love!"
He looked around the temple, which had a large idol of Lord Krishna and several smaller idols and photos. He picked up a photo of Radha Rani and brought it home.
Rahul placed the photo in the innermost room of his house, closed the door, and said, "Radha Maiya, I have no enmity with you. Your Krishna took my Amma away, so I have brought you with me. Until I get my Amma back, you will stay with me."
Saying this, he ran to his grandmother and asked for some food. His grandmother was overjoyed because it was the first time in days that her grandson had asked for food. She happily gave him the food.
Rahul rushed back to the room with Radha Rani’s photo, closed the door, and placed the food in front of the photo. "Here, have something to eat. You are like my guest, and my Amma always said never to keep a guest hungry, even if you have to go hungry yourself. Now, eat quickly. I'll go outside. If you need anything, just let me know. Don’t be shy!"
To be continued...
