Thranduil's POV
A hard smack on the chest, followed by sharp whispers.
"Thranduil, Thranduil, please wake up." (Y/N) was covered with a thin layer of sweat.
"Silme, are you okay?" I sat up, she was holding her belly, her face was pained.
"Ireth, she's coming." Her eyes squeezed shut again, a small groan escaped her lips.
"Don't worry, I'm here, I'll get the healers." I ran to get a guard. "Get the healers, the Queen is in labor." The light haired guard ran off to fulfill his task.
"Are they coming?" (Y/N) groaned again, her head fell back.
"Yes my dear, they're coming." I looked to the door, just then the healers came bustling through.

Many hours later
"She's going, get something to keep her awake." The healers shouted. I looked down at my wife, she was pale, very pale. Her hands were cold and clammy and I could see her chest rising and falling out of time. The occasional rasp of breath escaped her lips.
"Do something!" I shouted holding her hand tighter. "Come on (Y/N) hold on, please don't die."
"Thranduil," she said with a gasp, her grip on my hand loosening and tightening in intervals.
"I'm here my love." I whispered laying my head onto the pillow next to her.
"I love you so much." Tears started to fall across her pale skin. Her breathing grew worse and worse.
"No, please don't." I grasped her hand tightly. Her eyes slowly closed and I heard a healer cry out. "Please, no, come back. Come back Silme, please. Don't leave me."
I heard no breath coming from her lips.
"No!" I held her pale face in my hands "no! You must come back! Don't leave me! Please, please," my lips traced over hers. "Please." The word left my mouth in a small whimper.
"My king, she is dead." The healers said.
"And the child?" I asked still holding (Y/N)'s shoulders.
"Gone as well my king, the baby was premature."
"Leave me." I snapped.

3rd person POV
Thranduil held onto his dead wife, his body shaking with anger and grief. It burned in his belly.
"My sweet darling." He gasped brushing back her hair. "My sweet darling, you left me. Why did you leave me?"
A few minutes of silence passed. The elven king's head fell down to her shoulder.
"Why did you leave me?!" He screamed into the dark room. The words echoing harsh and cold back to him. Lingering in the air like a heavy mist. A soft sobbing came from Thranduil as he repeated the question over and over.
"You were my queen. How am I to rule?" He whispered.
The queens reign had finished, Thranduil's heart now broken for a second time, he was not going to try again. It was just a chance for more wakes of pain.
The queen, was done being a queen.
