The wedding hall was a swirl of colors, laughter and the melodic strains of traditional music. Pranav and Mansi, the bride and groom, were at the center of it all radiating happiness and celebration.

Their friends and family surrounded them, celebrating their union with joy and enthusiasm.

Abhyudaya stood near the entrance, looking dashing in his crisp sherwani. His eyes scanned the crowd, landing on Gautami who was talking animatedly with a group of friends near the stage.

She was looking absolutely stunning in a vibrant saree, her hair cascading down her shoulders in soft curls. Abhyudaya's heart skipped a beat, realizing that it was not just friendship anymore but something else. But he quickly masked his emotions with a friendly smile as he waved to her.

Gautami caught his wave and waved back but her smile faltered slightly as she saw another girl approach Abhyudaya.

The girl, who was a mutual friend leaned in close to him, laughing at something Abhyudaya said.

Gautami felt a pang of jealousy but quickly pushed it aside, trying to focus on the conversation she was having before seeing him.

The evening progressed and the reception was in full swing. Pranav and Mansi moved around, talking to guests and enjoying their special day.

Abhyudaya found himself constantly glancing at Gautami who was now talking to another guy, laughing at his jokes. Each time he saw her laugh, a twinge of jealousy gnawed at him.

Similarly, Gautami could not help but notice how Abhyudaya seemed to be the center of attention among the girls. Her heart sank every time she saw a girl touch his arm or lean in a bit too close according to her.

She tried reminding herself that they were just good friends but it was becoming increasingly difficult to keep her emotions in check.

As the night wore on, the jealousy simmered under the surface for both of them. It finally reached a boiling point during the couples' dance.

Pranav and Mansi had invited all the couples to join them on the dance floor and Abhyudaya found himself partnered with a girl who seemed overly enthusiastic about the dance. Gautami, meanwhile was dancing with the same guy she had been talking to earlier.

Abhyudaya's eyes met Gautami's across the dance floor and in that moment, they both saw the frustration and longing mirrored in each other's eyes.

Unable to take it any longer, Abhyudaya excused himself from his dance partner and walked straight over to Gautami.

"May I cut in of you don't mind?" He asked, his voice barely concealing his irritation.

Gautami's dance partner looked taken aback but stepped aside. Gautami too surprised to say anything kept quiet and gave her hand in Abhyudaya's hand. As they danced, the tension between them was growing more and more palpable.

"Having fun?" Abhyudaya asked, his tone sharper than he intended.

Gautami glared at him. "I was until you showed up."

"Really? Because it looked like you were having too much fun," he retorted, unable to hide his jealousy.

"What is that supposed to mean?" She snapped.

"It means," Abhyudaya said, his voice low and intense, "that seeing you with someone else is driving me crazy."

Gautami's eyes widened in shock. "You think it is any easier for me? Seeing you with all those girls?"

Their dance had slowed to a stop and they were now standing in the middle of the dance floor, oblivious to the curious glances from the other guests.

"Come with me," Abhyudaya said, grabbing her hand and pulling her towards the exit.

"Abhyudaya what are you doing?" Gautami protested, but she did not resist as he led her outside to a quiet and secluded corner of the garden.

Once they were away from the prying eyes and the noise of the reception, Abhyudaya finally let go of her hand. They stood facing each other, both breathing heavily, not to he forgotten about the tense and heavy tension between them.

"I cannot stand it anymore," Abhyudaya said, his voice raw with emotion. "I cannot see you with someone else Gautami. I love you."

Gautami's eyes filled with tears. "I love you too Abhyudaya. I have for a long time. I just did not know how to tell you."

They stared at each other for a moment, the weight of their unexpected confessions hanging in the air. Then, as if drawn by an invisible force, they moved closer having their arms wrapped around each other in a tight embrace.

"I thought you would never feel the same and that is why I never thought of expressing myself to you because I feared of losing you," Gautami whispered against his chest.

"I have always felt this way but like you, I too felt the same insecurity," Abhyudaya murmured, kissing the top of her head. "I was just too scared to tell you."

They stood there for a long time, holding each other, the jealousy and frustration of the evening melting away.

They had finally confessed their feelings and in that quiet, secluded corner, they found the happiness and contentment they had been longing from each other all this time.

As they made their way back to the reception, hand in hand, they knew that everything had changed. They were no longer just friends, they were something much more. Something much more special and they both could not wait to see where this new chapter of their lives would take them on this journey ahead titled "togetherness."❤

The end☺🌼
