Backstories :)
——————————————————————Cazpian (Caz) Fletcher POV
As a young child Caz was pretty normal, though lots of people avoided him and he never could figure out why. His mother hated how he was always avoided, always left alone and could never make any friends besides Auriela. He didn't care though, he had his best friend, Auriela. His mother didn't like Auriela, so was always neglectful of him because of his strong bind with her. Auriela never avoided him, they were friends from almost birth regardless of what his mother thought or said. They'd been through so much together, going on adventures in nature and enjoying it.
But when they were 5, Auriela had to move away; neither of them sure why. Neither of them liking it. But they had to deal with it. Caz was left alone, with his mother and no friends. He spent the rest of his childhood and middle school life lost in books, and constantly writing. Everyone called him a freak, but he didn't care. He loved writing, being in his own world. Even his mother called him names, and would just leave him alone constantly; he never got scared though, he was accustomed to it. He made many people around him scared by just looking at them too long, he found it cool.
Once he made it to high-school, he was still pretty much alone; few people spoke to him. Until one day, a new girl came; Auriela. Caz sat at the back, with nobody around him. Auriela chose to sit with him. He didn't know why, but she did; she didn't speak to him right away, so he kept writing in his journal. A couple days later they started to talk, not knowing who each other were, besides their names. They hungout over the weekend and got to know each other, telling each other about their childhoods and what they did. They didn't mention names, neither of them could remember the name of their childhood bestfriend. But they came to a conclusion that they had grown up similarly, but not that they were literally talking about each other.
They got to know each other more, hanging out almost everyday and Caz getting his spirit back after all those lonely years. He spent a lot of time at Aurielas house, they talked about a lot of random things; becoming better friends. Still not figuring out who eachother were, but they would.
Nearing the end of the year, they got distant. That was until Auriela talked to him about a really weird dream she'd had, he didn't bother telling her that he also had a similar dream; he was too lost by all of it. So naturally he believed what Auriela had said and they made their way to where the person in Auriela's dream had told them to go.
Auriela Lillian Winter POV
Auriela grew up on the east coast of Canada, enjoying her life with her best friend Caz. He was always there for her when she needed it because her stepdad was always hitting her to being rude, and the two were the same age. Auriela would hang out with Caz every chance she got. They'd go to parks and were always on adventures. She'd known Caz since as long as she can remember, nothing could break their bond. Except, moving.
When Auriela's mother had told her they were moving away, she was devastated. She didn't want to leave her best friend, Caz, was all she had. She wanted to spend more time with him, one last time even. Before she left, she made sure he had the necklace they made together; so they'd always remember each other.
Highschool rolled around and Auriela moved back to near where she lived as a child, she loved being back and getting to revisit everything and have memories flowing back. On her first day, she sat with a boy who was lost in what looked to be a journal; she felt bad he was alone and every desk even remotely near him was empty. They all avoided him, and she wanted to know why; he also seemed really friendly so she thought that would be a good start at this school. They started talking, becoming friends, and talking about their pasts and whatnot.
After a couple months they were decent friends, they got slightly distant during the end of the school year due to exams and tests; so they didn't get much time to chat. One night, Auriela had a dream; a really odd one at that. She was so terrified and scared, she'd gotten so much information and no idea if it was true information either. She'd been told she was a Demi-God, and that she was in danger and needed to leave. Along with Caz. She'd have to sit there and explain this messed up dream she had; to her best friend, and frankly only friend.
She eventually disappeared from school for a bit, just trying to figure out whether or not that dream she had was worth listening to. She felt that it was, but didn't know how to explain that to Caz. She'd tried to text him about it, but couldn't form the words. She did end up telling him, and they ended up talking about it; trying to figure out if it was true. They ended up deciding to go, packing what they needed and just disappearing; neither of their parents would really understand much, Auriela's mum is completely blinded by her stepdad and just has given up, and Caz' mum would call him crazy.
