Road Rage and Rampages

        Lan and MK were both still screaming by the time they finally reached the elevator. The moment the staff launched them out of the cave where the Demon Bull Family and their army were, they were sent flying directly into the rusty lift responsible for bringing them down in the first place.

        As soon as the adults were practically thrusted into the elevator, neither one didn't even have the chance to reach for the lever to transport them up and out of danger. For the moment they were shoved into the cramped compartment, the mystical staff was apparently far from its unpredictable antics, the duo widening their eyes in dread when it began wobbling once again. Screams erupted out of their mouths as the rod pierced through the metallic floor and forcibly sent the entire lift flying up with them still inside when it suddenly extended itself. 

        When they finally reached the top, the two practically collapsed onto the ground with the staff shrinking back to its original size in MK's hand. Sadly, there was no time to stop and relax against the safety of the outside, the young adults forcing themselves to scramble back onto their feet and make a beeline towards the delivery kart, their only mode of transportation away from the mountain. They unceremoniously stumbled back into their own respective seats, Lan hastily strapping herself in the second she sat down.

        "Gun it, gun it, gun it!" She grabbed ahold of MK's arm and wildly shook him back and forth in her panic for a few moments. The young man's vision was swimming by the time she released, but he barely managed to shake off the dizziness so he could quickly insert the key into the ignition lock so he could get the kart started. The moment they heard the engine hum, MK was already slamming his foot down onto the gas pedal, dust flying behind the vehicle as it was quick to take off down the path leading back to Megapolis. 

        But before they could even think about relaxing once they were a good distance away from the abandoned construction site...

        BOOM!

        The earth exploded in a brilliant scarlet light a few meters behind them after they drove off, Lan being the first to crane her head back from the passenger seat to see what was responsible. Her heart nearly leapt out of her chest when she saw some sort of tank-like, motorized car tear through the concrete directly where they were moments ago, obliterating the elevator into nothingness. Sitting in the cockpit with levers in his hand was none other than Red Son, a crazed grin on his features as he took off after them in his much larger vehicle. 

        MK desperately spun the delivery kart's steering wheel in a nearby alleyway in hopes that the sharp turn would throw off their pursuer, only for him and Lan to do a double-take when they saw just how persistent the man was. The moment they drove down the backstreet, the tank-like vehicle swerved towards them, its sides slightly scraping the concrete walls with sparks flying in the air as it tenaciously dashed after the kart. 

        "Alright, Noodle Boy!" Red Son maniacally cackled before gritting his teeth in determination, stomping down on the gas pedal to speed up as he gripped tightly onto the controls. "Hand over the staff along with Flower Girl! I've got a bone to pick with her after that dirty plant witchcraft of hers!"

        "Wait, what?!" Lan gaped in utter shock upon hearing that she had officially become one of his targets, her eyes nearly bugging out as she clung onto one of the support poles for the delivery kart. Panic tightened its hold on her heart the moment she saw his unhinged expression through his vehicle's front window. "Oh God, he's serious...! What do we do, what do we do...?!" 

        "I-I don't know, try using your new magic plant powers again!" MK sputtered in equal trepidation, pressing down on the kart's gas pedal as hard as he could to accelerate.
