A/N

Hi everyone, so I enjoy writing for fun and recently thought why not post it 🤷🏼‍♀️ I will include songs here in there that I was listening to while writing.

🎶Runaway by AURORA🎶

Alison POV
The sound of the base in my ears is driving all other thoughts out of my brain. My lungs are burning and I can feel the sweat running down my back. My legs are screaming at me to stop running but it's oddly comforting. When I'm doing this my mind doesn't race, I don't worry about the other million things in my life. I just think about how my legs hurt and it's bloody hot in here and how much I love this next song that has started blasting through my earphones.

There is something therapeutic about being able to reduce your brain functions to one or two lines of thought.

I am running in my school's indoor track before my first class. As it usually does in England, it's raining. It's September so the days are starting to get shorter and the leaves are falling from the trees. The school gym and running tracker is a new addition to the school and I must say I am very fond of it. It's massive with large floor to ceiling glass to allow me to look out at the beautiful Autumn morning. I love autumn, it's my favourite time of year. I am very much a knitted jumper and hot coffee type of girl.

The school transforms in autumn with golden browns, reds and yellows dominating most of the grounds.

My watch beeps signalling that I've completed my 5 kilometres for this morning. I slow down to a walk. I walk one lap to cool down and then it's straight to the shower and to class.

As I walk to English I check myself again in my reflection of the windows. My cheeks are still flushed from running which I hate but other than that I look nice today.

I am a redhead so a red face is not something unusual for me.

I am wearing black mom jeans with an emerald green crop top that shows just a small bit of the pale skin on my torso. It is topped with a brown leather jacket and runners. After my shower I put my long red hair up into a high ponytail and slicked back the straggler hairs and of course, I have my gold jewellery on. I never leave home without my necklace, earrings and rings. My waist is pretty slim thanks to running and the gym. The physical activity is more for my mental health then my physical health though.

"Hey Alison, wait up!" I hear behind me. I turn and give my best friend a small smile. "Hey Amy, what's up?" I greet as we fall into step and walk to class.

"Oh not much, my weekend was pretty boring. These A levels are going to be the death of me. I have no social life" she groaned. I couldn't help but agree with her. Uni was only a year away. This was our second week back in school of our final year and already the workload is massive.

I wanted to go to Edinburgh University and study psychology. I was hell bent on getting out of London and spreading my wings. I went to Edinburgh when I was fourteen and there was something about it that just called to me. It felt comforting and exciting at the same time. I felt like the place I was supposed to be.

"How is Jayson?" I enquire as we take our seats at the back of the class. Amy was a beautiful tall blond girl who ate boys for breakfast. She was smart, kind, funny and confident. What boy wouldn't love her? Her latest was Jayson on the basketball team. They had been dating for two weeks.

"Oh he's fine, I have a good feeling about him. He nice and not to mention hot as hell I mean last night.."

"Hey Alison, how are you?" Amy was interrupted by Gregory and Tom walking over to our desk. Both boys were on the soccer team, had a tan and a reputation for partying. They were good looking but weren't my type of guy. Gregory has been intent since the beginning of last year to get in my pants.
