The true freedom is not when you're free from the cage but it is when you're free from the fear in your mind.
Like a habit. When you're doing a particular task for a long time, your body absorbs it into actions, repeats it even when you're done with the task. Like a horse tied to the chair. It stays tied to the chair even if can absolutely pull it and run away.
It's not about physicality but the mentality that holds you back from being free. Same with the fear in mind. It holds you back from being free and keeps you on the spot you've always been at.
And when the fear is gone, you're at peace.
.
"You're staring at her again, brother." Grey's voice snapped me out of my thoughts and I glimpsed at him and then at the rudest man on the earth sitting beside me.
Yes, the rudest man on the earth because, Dark Grasso walked out of the bathroom quietly after I confessed my love to him. Yes! He just disappeared after wrapping me into towels. He disappeared from his room before I even come out of the bathroom and since then, we haven't said a word to each other.
I'm embarrassed to confess my love to him! Lord, I want to scream hard by digging my face in the cushion. Why would I confess?! Why would I bloody confess my love to this arrogant man?!
"Did you two fight?" Purple asked and I turned my face away from Dark because who'd want to look at the man who didn't confess you back after you confessed him your love.
"We didn't fight, Purple." I pressed my words, clasping my fingers around the wine glass and picking it up. "And can we not talk about Dark and me while we have guests around the table?"
Lilith is here, chunking the whisky even before we start the dinner. Light has been impossibly quiet, Grey looked like he was forced to wear the tuxedo and tie. Leo and Golden are yet to be arrive. This is going to be a long night.
"I had no interest to be your guest, but," Lilith pressed her words, swallowing her whisky in one sip. "You all can't dine without me, can you?" She rolled her eyes, those beautiful big eyes moved on Light as if she taunted him for inviting her.
"I told him to invite you, Lilith," Dark said, his tone all serious, "To discuss the problem you're facing. We might help..."
"I don't need your help, Dark, or anyone's," Lilith slammed her whisky glass on the table and looked bothered. "I'm a grown up, independent and a bitch. I'm capable to handle my own problems."
"None of us is questioning your capability, Miss Berenguer," Light's eyes turned sharp, moving on Lilith's face as if he was annoyed by Lilith's sentence. "We know you can handle anything that comes in your way, but, let us help anyway."
"Help me how?" Lilith looked quite pissed off. Why wouldn't she be? She's been accused of being non-royalty. "By giving me a shoulder to cry on? No thanks, I don't need your fucking sympathy."
