Baby blinked awake, feeling herself in the tight hold of something as she laid in bed. Carefully looking over her shoulder, she could see Bonnie was hugging her close, his face buried deep into the top of her back. She smiled, then rolled over so she could look him over fully, her brilliant blue eyes gazing at his peaceful face.
As per the sleeping arrangements of the others staying here, she made it very clear Bonnie was going to be sleeping with her in her room no matter what, so he wouldn't need a room of his own. While Bonnie tried to say otherwise, one swift glare from her shut him up instantly, and she knew one thought was going through everyone's head.
'He's down so bad'.
But Baby wouldn't deny that, because she loved this rabbit, dammit! So here she was, snuggled in his arms as she greeted the new day with a tired smile. She breathed quietly, closing her eyes as she snuggled into his warmth and security. She felt safe here, not just in the Capital, but within the arms of Bonnie. And now she had both together, which meant she was as safe as she could possibly be.
But she knew she had to get up at some point, so she carefully wiggled out of Bonnie's grasp, the rabbit not waking up thankfully, and she rolled out of her room with a smile on her face. When she came out into the hallway, she looked around at everything and just felt at home. There wasn't any grey walls with chequered strips, no chequered floors, and no ceiling lights that barely did their job, no lack of windows so you felt claustrophobic.
No, here, there were lovely painted murals on both sides that just exploded with all colours imaginable, reflecting those that lived here. There was a soft, plush carpet beneath her feet that helped keep her warm and comforted. And there were beautiful lights hanging from the ceiling and coming from lamps on side tables. There were massive windows that let sunlight flow in, making Baby feel more like she could do anything she wanted.
Taking a deep breath, she started heading her way towards their own personal little cafeteria, able to smell the yummy food from where she was. As she skated over, she found herself somewhat distracted by the murals, so decided to just stop and actually look at them, as all other times she visited she was so clouded she never thought of doing so.
So she just stopped and stared, taking in all the hard work that was done. Later yesterday, Caleb did tell her he and Kat did the rough sketches of it all, the crew just had to do slight modifications so it could work with the given space.
As she looked over the mural, not only did she catch that every door was now unique and housed the occupants' names (she'd need to talk to having her's edited to include Bonnie), but she also saw that each door was surrounded with a painting that invoked something about themselves.
Curious, she looked at her door to see what Caleb and Kat put in... And her heart skipped a bit at what she saw.
Skating closer with tears starting to pool in her eyes, she was in awe.
It was the flower field.
The field she, Caleb and Gladius shared a special moment together as she opened up about herself. Seeing it forever remembered in this way made her heart soar so high, and nearly made her crumple onto the ground. But she kept strong,a nod just smiled and laughed wetly. Wiping her eyes, she continued on her original task, making her way down the hall to the cafeteria's door.
She headed inside, and took a big whiff of all the delicious foods being made, and it'd make her mouth water... If that was even a possibility. Tears were something that just seemed natural. Drool... not so much. Must be a ghost thing. She just shook her head and made her way over to the counter, seeing all the delicious options available.
Humming in though, one of the chefs walked over and smiled at her. "Hello there, Miss Baby. It's lovely to see you up and about so early!"
Baby looked up at the chef, quickly glanced at his name tag, and then smiled at him. "Yeah, just feeling a lot better after yesterday. So don't mind me, Tolken, I'm just looking at whatcha' got right now."
