Tony, Bruce, and Nova had spent the last three days in the lab trying- and failing- to create Ultron. Bruce had already left the lab to go get ready for the party but the Starks decided to stay another hour.

"What did we miss?" Tony asked as the two packed up their work.

"I'll continue to run variations on the interface, but you should probably prepare for your guests. I'll notify you if there are any developments." JARVIS says to Tony.

"Thanks, buddy." Tony replies.

"Enjoy yourself, sir, ms. Stark-Williams." JARVIS says to the two Starks.

"I always do." Tony says as he turns off the lights.

"Thanks, J" Nova says over her shoulder and follows her dad out of the lab.

After what felt like hours of talking to guests and catching up with her family, it was finally just the Avengers, Dr. Cho, Maria Hill, and herself sitting around and talking. Parties always exhausted her because everyone always had questions about what it was like to be a Stark, how the Avengers acted behind closed doors, things like that. She loved talking about her family but these questions always felt so invasive, like these people wanted to vicariously live through her for a few minutes.

Nova was sat between Steve and Thor, his hammer sat on the coffee table in the middle of the group as that all sat spread out on the couches and chairs.

"But, it's a trick!" Clint says referring to Thor's hammer.

"Oh, no. It's much more than that." Thor says.

"Uh, "Whosoever be he worthy shall haveth the power!" Whatever man! It's a trick." Clint says, mocking mjolnir's prophecy.

"Well please, be my guest." Thor says gesturing for Clint to lift the hammer.

"Come on." Tony says, not believing this.

"Really?" Clint says.

"Yeah!" Thor says enthusiastically. Clint gets up and walks to the end of the table where the handle is pointing.

"Oh this is gonna be beautiful." Rhodey says and Nova laughs.

"You got this uncle Clint!" She says encouragingly and Clint nods his head at her with a small smile.

"Thanks Supernova." He says.

"Clint, you've had a tough week, we won't hold it against you if you can't get it up." Tony says and everyone laughs at the man's joke.

"You know I've seen this before, right?" Clint says and starts trying to lift the hammer. "I still don't know how you do it."

"Smell the silent judgment?" Tony asks.

"Please, Stark, by all means." Clint says motioning for him to try. Tony gets up and nova and Steve give each other a look. This should be interesting.

"Oh, here we go." Nat says.

"Okay."

"Uh-oh." Rhodey says and Nova once again laughs.

"Um-hmm."

"Never one to shrink from an honest challenge." Tony says.

"Get after it." Clint says.

"Here we go." Nat says rolling her eyes.
