"What's up, Babe?"Way greeted his close friend with a smile as soon as Babe entered the sparsely populated garage, dressed in a famous brand black shirt and baggy black pants, still looking as good as ever with his sunglasses on.
Although Babe had barely appeared in the last two or three weeks, he managed to meet his group of friends.
"Hello, handsome." Babe took off his sunglasses, then raised an arm and put it around Way's neck, while his tall friend leaned over and gently kissed his cheek with a flirtatious gesture that he enjoyed doing all the time:
"Do you miss me?"
"I think I should be the one to ask you if you miss me more." Way replied jokingly.
"You disappeared without a trace, you don't even go to the club."
"Uh, I'm sorry, it just so happens that lately I've been busy with spiritual practices."
"Yea right" said Way.
Babe laughed happily that Way could still tolerate his teasing.
Way was the one who understood him the most and knew him best. So it wasn't strange that others mistakenly thought that there was a special relationship between them.
"Oh, I brought a boy for you to see," Babe said, before turning to shake his hand and and call a tall and shy boy who had followed him from the beginning.
He approached and spoke to the boy with glasses in a calm and soft voice:
"This is Way, my friend. He owns this garage and also takes care of the cars. You guys should get to know each other."
"Hello." The boy nodded his head to greet Way with an uncomfortable gesture, while Way, accepted the greeting and laughed subtly at the incongruity of the young man's appearance in front of Babe.
"His name is Charlie." Babe, the well-known racer, introduced Charlie in a way that seemed like he didn't want anyone to think he knew him.
But, although Babe didn't go into details about Charlie, Way realized that there was some kind of relationship between the two.
It was a little surprising because this time Babe seemed to change his taste in men. This caught Way off guard.
Charlie looked different from Babe's previous partners and, at the same time, Babe seemed more interested in this boy than in his other partners.
"Hello, Charlie." Way greeted with a friendly smile but in Charlie's eyes, he thought that Way's smile made him feel a little uncomfortable.
He told himself that maybe he was thinking too much, but it seemed like it was a fake smile on his face and in his heart, there was something else he was thinking about.
"Don't make fun of him." Babe raised his hand and waved it in front of Way's face as if he knew that that kind of smile would make a shy person like Charlie uncomfortable.
Way thought it was funny and laughed genuinely, happy for his friend.
"Last night I brought that guy to be admitted and they hit him so hard that they almost killed him."
