The dizziness in his head still persisted slightly, despite having slept for several hours. The image of his new bedroom, where he had been sleeping during this time, was still somewhat blurry, so he had to blink and give it time to adjust after being trapped in darkness for so long.

"Do you feel better?"

That was the first sound he heard, Jeff's voice, neither loud nor soft, as he sat on the couch in the corner with a book, which he seemed to have been reading the whole time Charlie was asleep. When he saw that he had woken up, Jeff pulled the bookmark from the back of the book and placed it on the page he had left, then put it down on the couch and walked over to Charlie.

"My throat hurts."

Charlie replied in a hoarse voice before slowly sitting up. At the same time, Jeff looked at the cup of tea he had prepared and handed it to his older brother.

"Uncle said you should drink tea when you wake up."

"How long did I sleep?"

"A little over three hours."

"It feels like I've been sleeping for three days."

The tall young man sighed as he took a small sip of tea. The sweet aroma made him feel somewhat refreshed, but this weakness still made him reluctant to move much.

"It's normal. Uncle said just breaking a bond is exhausting. But what you did was worth a whole week. Sleeping only three hours is considered little."

"It's exhausting, but I feel lighter."

"Of course, you've let go of several abilities." Jeff laughed softly as he sat on the edge of the bed.

"How do you feel? Anything different?"

"Just tired, as I said."

"That means you've become an ordinary person."

Charlie slowly lowered the hand holding the tea cup before placing it on the nightstand. He looked at the cup, holding it silently as if reflecting on the life that had fallen apart, and how now it would be completely different. In fact, he wondered how it would feel to become a different person.

He felt strange, but not numb. He felt he had transformed into someone new.

"It feels strangely good." replied the tall alpha with a slight smile.

"I'm not used to it yet, but I feel full of energy."

"You no longer need to carry stolen goods."

"Oh, now it feels much lighter."

"That's good. Life will be easier from now on."

"I hope so." Charlie laughed softly, rubbing his neck before looking outside.

He saw drops of water on the window, and the soft sunlight shining made him feel refreshed, even more than the cup of tea he had just drunk.

"Has it been raining?"

"Oh, it's been pouring." Responded Jeff, following Charlie's gaze out the window.

"But it stopped just before you woke up."

"Seeing the rain reminds me of Babe."

"You think of him all the time."

"Not that way." Charlie turned to Jeff and pinched his nose. "I mean when I was with Babe. Whenever something happened, it always rained."

"Something important?"

"Yes." The tall young man paused for a moment with a soft face and then continued:
