"Life has strange ways of reminding you, you don't belong... but sometimes, you eventually find where you do belong." A woman says in a soft tone.
We fade from black to see a young teenage girl. She has slightly pale skin, wears a long sleeve black and white stripped shirt, dark ripped jeans, and black boots, she has long black hair, and blue eyes. She sits against a brick wall, her arms crossed, a few other guys and girls nearby. A few of them drinking, sharing something from a long brown paper bag, others sharing a cigarette. One offers her a drink, she looks at it hesitantly, then she takes it and drinks, coughing a bit as she hands it back, her face showing discomfort. A few of the guys laugh at her, making small negative remarks. She turns her face and tightens her crossed arms.
"Corvus, the hell you doing? I thought you were told to get out of here?" A taller guy says as he walks over, his clothes pressed and ironed.
"I'm just hanging out.." She mumbles.
"Get the fuck out of here bitch!" He shouts holding his hand up in a threatening manner. She rolls her eyes.
"Fuck you Garrett, You can't kick me out." She says in a calm serious tone.
He turns around, his entourage making fun, with oohs and other noises. He turns back around and smacks Corvus.
"Agh, you didn't.. you fucken asshole." Corvus stands and raises her fist, but some of the others grab her arms. "What the hell, let me go!" She struggles against them.
"You're gonna learn.." he cracks a smile as he raises his own fist, before he swings someone grabs it. "The fu.." his question interrupted by a snap and his screams. He holds his arm as it flails about. The others run away as he stands there. We turn to see another girl, she stands there with a long gray hoodie and jeans, her hood is on slightly obscuring her face, we see long black bangs hanging out, and her mouth as she smirks.
"Leave, or I break the other one." She says in a calm tone. He Runs away sobbing softly.
Corvus looks at her. "I had that." She says.
"I believe you, Raven."
Corvus steps back, surprised.
"Nobody calls me Raven..." Corvus says hesitantly."Oh it's Corvus, that's your gang name right?" The girl asks. She looks up and we see her eyes, They're purple. "Aya.." she says reaching her hand towards Corvus.
"Didn't ask.. what do you want?"
Aya Sighs, "To be your friend." A smile stretching across her face.
"I don't need any new friends.." Corvus says.
Aya looks around, turning her head back and forth a few times. "Well it looks like I'm not a new friend, maybe your only friend."
Corvus, shakes her head and walks away, past Aya.
"You're gonna need friends to get through this Raven.." Aya says.
Corvus turns and looks at her, her face a mixture of fear and anger.
"I'll see ya around, Raven. You'll see." Aya says as she walks away.
Corvus stands still watching her as she disappears around the corner, her face still showing the mixed emotions, now with a small hint of curiosity. she starts walking away again, a bit slower this time. We fade to the entrance of a group home, the name
'Radiant Horizons Home For Troubled Youth' a bright sounding name on a dark decaying building. Corvus Sighs, as she reaches the door, turning the handle she stops after a quarter of a turn."Damn it, missed dinner."
She opens the door and walks in, passed a few other teens and kids. An older middle aged woman watches Corvus through lowered glasses.
