Chapter 2 :Risks And Faults

"Innocence. To Protect it, Sometimes, we must pretend, or go back to our own roots, To our innocence. Even if it's tainted." A woman says in a soft Tone.

We face from black to see Raven and Lily sleeping in the dead of night, the Room is Dark, A Cold breeze flows through from the outside, the open window allowing the Coldness of the outside in. Raven's face twitches in her sleep. A mixture of fear and happiness battle on her face. Lily sits up suddenly as she gasps. She shivers, walking over to the window, she tries to close it, but it doesn't budge. She stands there looking at the window, with slight shivers. She looks outside and watches the night sky, distant Cars are heard driving. She tries again.

"Dang it.. Ra..." she stops. "No, I don't want to bother her, she needs her sleep." She thinks as she walks to the door. "Maybe I can.. Do a quest! , Find another blanket or something to close the window." She smiles as she reaches for the illuminated handle, the moonlight breaking through some of the rain clouds. She turns the handle and it opens with a creak. She grits her teeth, as she slowly looks to Raven. "Woo, still asleep, you know Mr Door, that's not very cool of you, trying to wake up Rave like that.." she whispers to the door as she walks through it. She walks the familiar halls. "Why is it always so dark in here." She thinks as she finds a small lit candle, she takes it and wanders the halls some more.

"These Damn Kids, always making a mess, no wonder they are here, nobody would want slobs like them." The woman from the desk says as she walks through a Door.

Lily Gasps and hides, "not Miss D, the evil Witch is on her patrol, I must get past her!" She thinks to herself, Hiding the flame. She places the candle on the floor, and leaves it. She hides and watches from the shadows. "The witch finds her way from the treasure Cave, vile and dangerous, she.. what is she doing?" Lily narrates as She watches as the woman sits at her desk, taking out a bottle of something. "Shes drinking a potion! Must be one of her vile mixes that keeps her as a witch." Lily thinks as she sneaks past her. "She might have the treasure keys, but she's too powerful for a simple Low level Valkyrie princess knight like me. And I am Unarmed!" She places her arm against her head as she fake faints from her hiding spot. Lily walks over to another door, she presses on it. "Oh, Yes!" She whispers to herself. The door slight opens as she looks inside, it's a laundry room, she walks in. Slightly closing the door she then looks around, there's a shelf with, cleaners and chemicals on it, "ooh, the alchemy room!" She says in a whisper, the older manual washer and dryer are in here too, she sees a few brooms and mops as well. Eventually she finds a small box up on a high shelf. Lily gasps as she hears someone approaching, looking around frantically.

"Yes Mrs Durring, I'll be sure to take a look at it tomorrow, okay, have a good night." He says as he enters. Lily barely finds a small enough space to hide in as she sees Tom, he places a few things in a hamper, and a small blade in the box. He places his Keys on the counter as he stretches. "God, This world is getting worse." He mumbles, cleaning a glass before he takes out a hidden bottle, pouring it. "Here's to us, Miriam." He says as he takes a big drink. "Ooh, that warms the soul." He says as he places the Bottle down and smells something as he rushes out.

Lily emerges, "he's drinking a potion too! Maybe Rave Could use one of these potions." She thinks as she smells the bottle, immediately gagging. "Why does it smell weird?" She whispers. "He also hid a small sword, maybe Rave could use that." She adds as she tries to find a way to the box. She hears Footsteps and she takes the bottle and rushes to her spot. "If I can't find a blanket, maybe this potion will warm us. As he said." She thinks.

"Who the hell leaves a candle on the floor, trying to burn the place down?" He says to himself. "Where?.." he looks all around, then finishes what's in his cup. "Huh.." trying to hide his suspicion.

"Tom!" A yell is heard From the main hall. "There's someone trying to piss on the building again." They add

"Damn it." He mutters. "Alright call the police, I'll grab them." He yells back as he grabs his keys and walks out.

"Whew, that was close, come on Mr Potion, let's get you to Rave." She says as she stands hitting her head slightly. "Ow!" She whispers out. Then a clump of blankets fall on her. "Victory!" She shouts from under the pile, her shouts muffled. She takes them and the bottle and hurries back through the hall, seeing that Tom and the witch are outside. She returns to the room. As she closes the door behind her she bumps into Raven who's standing near the door. "Oops, pardon me." Lily says as her sight is obscured by the blanket.

"Lily..." she begins, "it's me." She adds with a laugh.

"Oh! Heya Rave! I'm sorry, did I wake you?" Lily says as she puts the blankets down.

"No, where.. where did you get those?"

"The Alchemist Laboratory! Uh.. laundry room." She replies with a giggle.

"Are they even clean?" Raven asks as she walks over inspecting them.

"Is anything clean here?" Lily asks in a sarcastic tone.

"True.. why didn't you just grab the sheets from your bed?" She asks as she walks over to it and pulls one slightly off.

"Oh.. uh.. I didn't think about that.. well that's why I have you Rave, you're the most smartest bestest sister I could've ever asked for!" Lily says as she hugs Raven. After a second she takes out the bottle and holds it up for Raven. "And I obtained a magic potion for you!"

Raven's face shifts, "Lily? Where did you get that?" She asks as she gently takes it.

"The alchemist's laboratory!" She says proudly. "It's some sort of warming potion. I heard Tom say it warmed him." She adds.

"Oh Lily.." Raven says with a laugh. "It's a potion alright, but we can't drink this. It's.. uh.. it's poisonous for us." She begins as she gets into 'character' "my princess this potion is only meant for those outside the nest. This could harm us! We must return it immediately." She says

Lily's eyes widen. "P..poison?" She gasps and takes a step back. "But.. that's impossible, it's a potion!" She says turning to the window.

A knock is heard and they both gasp turning to the door as Tom opens it. "I knew it.." he sighs. "Listen kid, I know you've been through a.. rough event yesterday, but.. this." He says softly as he takes the bottle from Raven. "This isn't the answer you're looking for." He places a hand on Raven's shoulder. "Listen, if you ever need to talk, just come find me." He says with a small smile. "And get some rest girls. It's late." He stands as a breeze of cold hits Lily, she shivers. "Oh damn it, that window stick again? One sec." He says grabbing a tool, he walks over and they watch as he closes the window and he does something with the tool. Taking a step back. "There, that should.. just about fix that." He turns. "Have a good night girls." The door closes behind him.

Lily walks over to the window, and she opens it. Her eyes widen, she closes it. "Wow! Tom is Amazing." She says as she looks to Raven. "Buuut. I think you'd have beaten the window too." She adds with a smile.

"Maybe.. but maybe it's only something Tom can do." Raven says with a smile. "So, what are you gonna do with these blankets now?"

"Keep them, they are a reward from the adventure!" She says as she stands on the bed. "I'll just.. put them on my bed. I sleep with you anyways." She says as she does. Lily walks over to Raven. "Rave?"

"Yeah?"

"Thank you for being here.." she says. "I was so bored and alone before you showed up."

"Oh.. Lily, I'm.. happy to be here for you." Raven says pulling her into a Hug.

"You know what would make this better?" Lily asks from Ravens arms.

"What's that?"

"A book! I wish we had some. Well, some that we could take and read." Lily says with a hint of disappointment. "I'd like a bed time story."

"I'll find you a book, or a library Lily, I promise you." Raven says with a soft smile. "Come on, you can tell me about your adventure as we go to bed."

"Oooh, yes!" Lily says jumping into the covers, as Raven lays next to her. "Well, it started as any other night.. cold and Dark.. there was a dragon in the sky.."

"A dragon?"

"Yeah! And witches! The cold came through The window.." she continues, her voice slowly fading as we fade to black.
