Y/n's POV
This is so annoying.. boxten is so annoying, he keeps hiding before I can catch up with him before going back to the ichor machine and messing up for like the hundredth time it's not even funny anymore I'm genuinely worried if he's stupid or something else.. I mean how many times can you mess up on the same machine, and this is his first machine.. oh! Wait he just finished it!... I have no idea where he went- OH! THERE HE IS!
Third person POV
Y/n was chasing boxten when he found a capsule quickly attempting to pick it up, Rodger emerging and opening his eye seeming to do actual damage to the player while slowing them down enough for y/n to attack them though boxten does end up dying to Rodger and not them, they groan in annoyance before looking up and realizing Rodger they're best friend was there "Oh hey Rodger" y/n says looking Rodger up and down before continuing "I didn't know you were on this floor" Rodger blinks in confusion before quickly realizing it was y/n talking to him "oh Well, that's to be expected when I blend in so well, speaking of which why do you just walk around aimlessly, you're not going to catch anyone like that" Rodger says in a nonchalant tone turning his head to look around at his surroundings Before continuing "honestly I'm surprised you even needed my help to kill a single person" Rodger chuckled quietly, as y/n slowly realized what ridge just said before gasping and speaking "Hey! I'm not that bad! Don't be such a jerk you sound like shrimpo!" They exclaim as shrimpo turns the corner
"I HEARD THAT!" Y/n turns their head towards shrimpo
"Speak of the devil.." y/n mutters to themselves before continuing "what do you want this time?" They cross their arms as ichor drips down from all three, shrimpo just scoffs and walks off muttering something along the lines of "this is why I hate (your object/animal)" y/n just sighs before turning back to Rodger, and continuing the conversation "So anyways where were we...? Also what where we even talking about I forgot.. shrimpo makes my brain fizz out I swear" they mutter the last bit just loud enough for Rodger to hear but just quiet enough for it to be barely legible, rodger tilts his head clearly confused he clears his throat before speaking "didn't quite understand that last bit Y/n, perhaps you would repeat it?" Y/n groans at Rodger's words "I would love it if you didn't use fancy words in a basic conversation, honestly I think you have a problem with that" they continue, ignoring Rodger's question, brushing it off like some kind of joke before continuing "anyways the reason I walk around is because I don't need to blend in if I'm obviously seen because, no offense your little camouflage capsule doesn't blend in very well with the others since you don't have tapes on yours while the others do" Rodger blinks in confusion looking at a nearby capsule before realizing that he clears his throat before speaking in a slightly annoyed tone "well y/n not everything is going to be perfect plus, didn't you need me to help you get boxten? I mean he's slow it should be easy to get him shouldn't it?" They look Rodger up and down annoyed with how they called them out going to speak before getting cut off by Rodger "no no it's not your time to speak right now Y/n, you need to listen and learn don't let this lesson go in one ear and out the other like you do with every other lesson I give you" Rodger speaks in a firm but kind tone before continuing "you need to learn how to actually give chase please, do me a favor and learn how to run faster it's not hard I know you can do it" Rodger speaks almost yelling but not quite he's trying to keep his calm, but it's clearly hard for him right now y/n looks around before speaking up "uh.. okay I'll try... I'll start training tomorrow or as soon as I can.." Rodger sighs before speaking again "no no.. it's fine you don't have to im sorry I didn't mean to get angry.. its just sometimes you can really get on my nerves I'm sorry" Rodger speaks in a much calmer tone sighing again before continuing "I promise I don't mean to be so rude sometimes I just can't deal with this it's just so unfair that everything gets to be too much you know? Especially when dandy started the ichor factory I mean none of this would happened if dandy just didn't start that factory, we'd all be normal if it wasn't for that stupid factory" Y/n looks at him before speaking "it's understandable but you really need to work on your temper okay? We don't want another shrimpo in this horrid place it's bad enough we have one right?" Y/n chuckles before quickly realizing this is a more serious conversation "...do you uh.. want a hug Rodger? It might make you feel better" they ask in a sheepish tone looking down at the ground Rodger sighs seeming to think about the question for a bit before answering "yes that would be delightful, thank you for asking" he sighs holding out his arms for a hug as y/n walks over and hugs him "feel any better?" Y/n asks trying to use a gentle voice to the best to their abilities "hm.. yes I am thank you
y/n.. may I ask you something?" Y/n looks up at Rodger tilting their head as a way to say yes "would you ever be open to going on a date anyone here?" Y/n looks shocked at the question as would anyone in this situation would be due to the build up to this exact moment "I guess, I mean as long as they're honest and sweet with me" they sigh after they finish their words "..so would you be open to having a date with me? If not that's fine.." y/n blinks in confusion before quickly realizing what Rodger just asked and letting out a small gasp "uh.. sure sounds fun.. next week? Same day?" Rodger smiles? y/n can't really tell due to Rodger not having a mouth "that would be delightful, see you there"
~Time skip~
The date finally arrives Rodger waits for y/n sitting at a kid's table waiting while shrimpo prepares the food when y/n finally arrives the food does too
"Woah.. I didn't expect you to go this far on a first date" they smile slightly before sitting down right across from Rodger while shrimpo serves the food mumbling to himself before getting shooed off by Rodger, "well I say it's better that anything else I could have done don't you?" Y/n giggles before speaking "guess so.. love you" Rodger smiles before speaking "love you too"
