Where am I? What's this place?"
I was standing inside a dark place. Too dark to see anything.
My questions were left unanswered as my voice drifted off. Not knowing what to do, I walked blindly, running my hand against the wall to find my way out. Judging from the stern and solid-state of the object I was touching, I assumed they were rocks, making me conclude that I was inside a cave.
But how was this possible? Didn't I come straight home after school? I remembered clearly I was sleeping safely and soundly on my bed. How could I be here inside the pitch-black cave?
My feet trudged along the uneven surface, and I almost tripped a few times. Yet I managed to hold myself up. I had been walking for what felt like an hour, and still, I couldn't find the exit. I was about to scream in frustration when a soft melody came from the front.
Though I was quite sure I had never heard this song before, something inside me struck the familiarity that made me feel comforted after hearing the tune. I subconsciously walked towards where the melody had come from, and surprisingly, found myself outside of the dark cave into a dimly moonlight-lit part of the forest.
Standing about fifty meters away was, once again, the faceless guy. A flute was positioned next to his lips. His slender fingers skillfully moving up and down on those holes, producing a soothing tune to accompany the silent and lonely night. I tried to walk closer to that person but couldn't. I was stuck, five meters away from him as if there was an invisible barrier drawn between us. Squinting, I tried to make out his face, for it was blurry again, but I still couldn't see it.
"Who are you?" I asked.
The melody receded as the person playing the flute dropped his musical instrument down to his side. With a soft voice, he called out that name again.
"Jeongguk."
"Who is Jeongguk?" I asked again.
He shook his head. I had no idea what kind of expression he was wearing, but the next call had his voice filled with sadness.
"Jeongguk."
"Why do you keep calling me Jeongguk? I am not him! Who is he to me? Who are you?!" I yelled in frustration, for I had no idea what was going on. "Answer me!"
The scream made my body jerk, waking me up from this weird dream. My eyes shot open to see the white ceiling above me, indicating I was safe in my room. I got out of bed and walked to my study desk to grab a bottle of water. I gulped the drink down until the contents ran out. Tossing the empty bottle into the trash bin nearby, I wiped the sweat on my forehead using the back of the black long-sleeve pajamas.
"Why did I have a weird dream again?" I murmured.
I had been dreaming about this Jeongguk and the faceless person for two consecutive nights. I had no idea why.

"Are you alright? You look pale." Minnie asked during the first recess.
"I'm fine. Just a lack of sleep," I replied.
"Why? Been studying hard?"
"No, I've had weird dreams." I began telling him about those two dreams to which he listened attentively until the end. "What do you think?" I asked when I finished narrating everything.
Shaking his head, he frowned, "I have no idea too. Jeongguk isn't your name, to begin with, though they both sounded similar. Perhaps you are dreaming about your ancestor's story?"
