"Well hello my Scholarly tyrants. I assume you all are working diligently? Also, my apologies about the little white paper bits on the ground, I called for the janitor but to our dismay he's running a little behind.... I guess you can say he Over-Swept!"Of course, Ms. Conrad only scored cool points with the kids that'll take any extra credit points they could get.
"Ouch," she winced comically, "Tough crowd. You guys are kind of lame, why can't you be like my second period? They're my favorite bunch."
"Ms. Conrad, you have favorites?" One of my classmates from the back gasped dramatically.
As I pulled out my notebook from my book bag, from the corner of my eye I could see Jungkook sitting with the most unamused expression he could possibly have. He even arrogantly twirled his pen through his fingers like we were all wasting his precious time with foolishness. I silently scoffed at him, simply because how dare he. He farted in my room the other day, so I know very well how bad his shit stinks.
He heaved a heavy sigh. "Of course she does, Brian. And you'll never be one of them."
I whipped my head in his direction so fast. "Dude."
"Turn around, Jay." He said, not even sparing me a glance.
And I did but muttering under my breath "What an A-hole sometimes."
"Thanks."
Ms. Conrad chuckled as she found satisfaction in her students' comments. "He's not wrong." She shrugged.
"Aw, that's messed up, Ms. C!" Brian said.
"Maybe it is, but it's the truth—just like what our dear Jada has expressed." her smile widened.
Jungkook knew she was talking to him. There was no way he couldn't have known when our daily routine as a class was to listen to these two go back and forth for at least 5 mins of a time. His large nose was upturned from the tilt of his head and the pen he twirled moments ago now tapped the side of his big head.
"Coo. Love that for me. I'll make it my new Instagram name. Can we get to the lesson now?" Jungkook was sure to respond. The dryness of his sarcasm nearly made my eczema flare up.
Despite being dismissed by her student, she exchanged the comment for a sweet smile. "Yes. Sure thing, Jungkook. Alright guys, you know what's up." Rounding her desk to get to her computer, she instructed us to turn to page 157 in our textbooks as her fingers danced across the keyboard, most likely replying to a few emails.
As a class we all moved in unison to open our books and flip through the pages. Typically students would use this time to talk amongst each other because Miss. Conrad would set up her power point to lead us through the lesson. Feeling indifferent about this little attitude that Jungkook had, I took this opportunity to check up on him.
"Ok, so" I said, frowning my face as I leaned away from him. "What's your problem today?"
"What's yours?" He asked, challenging me with the same tone.
"I don't have a problem at all. But you're being kind of mean today."
He exhaled sardonic chuckle then licked his lips. "Mean how, Jada? This is everyday shit."
"Yeah, but it's usually lighthearted and bubbly, and playful, not.. Mean."
He looked away as if he were thinking about his previous actions. "Well maybe I'm not in the mood."
