"ℝ𝕆𝕎𝔸ℕ, wait!" Wednesday called out as he and Lilith finally caught up to him. Rowan groaned and turned to face them, his expression filled with annoyance.

"What do you want? Why are you following me?" he demanded.

Wednesday looked at him with a serious tone. "I don't have time to explain, but you're in danger."

A smirk formed on Rowan's lips, followed by a chuckle that confused Wednesday. "I think you've got it backwards," Rowan said.

With that, he flung Wednesday and Lilith up against trees with a flick of his hand. Wednesday grunted as his back collided with the rough bark, while Lilith was pinned to the tree next to his. Rowan's smirk faded as he looked at them.

"You're the one who's in danger," Rowan declared.

"What are you doing?" Wednesday asked, his voice strained from the impact.

"Saving everyone from you. I have to kill you," Rowan replied, his smirk disappearing.

Realization struck Wednesday just as Lilith spoke. "The gargoyle, that was you?"

Rowan nodded, his gaze shifting to her with a hint of irritation. "Yeah. And I only wanted Wednesday, but you had to be there."

He turned back to Wednesday, who muttered, "It's always the quiet ones."

Rowan lifted a piece of paper with his powers and showed it to Wednesday. "Boy in the picture. That's you."

Wednesday glanced at the drawing, his eyes narrowing as he took it in. The paper fluttered away in the breeze, but Rowan's gaze remained fixed on Wednesday.

"You want to kill me because of some picture?" Wednesday asked, incredulous.

Rowan's anger flared. "My mother drew that picture 25 years ago when she was a student at Nevermore. She was a powerful Seer. Told me about it before she died."

"Rowan, if you want to kill me, then let go of Lilith. She has nothing to do with this," Wednesday spoke firmly.

Rowan glanced at Lilith and replied, "Sorry, Lilith, but let's just say you became collateral damage. You've seen too much."
