( chapter one - ben's disastrous plan )

Reagen was relaxed on her bed, one of the last few nights she got to spend at home before going back to Aurodon Prep. She enjoyed it there, byt there was nothing like home. Her mother and father, Pascal and Maximus, and even just her own bed room. At this very moment, Eugene and Pascal were fighting, and all she could hear was Eugene yelling at him. "Yeah, she married me, frog!"

She laughed. Her father was hilarious. Her mother on the other hand was extremely protective and cautious, but she loved everyone in Reagen's life nonetheless. Rapunzel is where Reagen earned all of her sunshine optimism from.

"Sweetheart," her mom opened the door softly. "You have a guest." She walked the other way, and Reagen sat up on the edge of her bed, seeing the smiling face of Ben curve the corner.

Ben and Reagen had been friends since her first day at Aurodon Prep. Their kindness and optimism made them click, like they were born to work together. "I need to talk to you," he said nervously.

"Yes, Ben?" Reagen laughed. Ben shoved his fists in his pockets, and let out a shaky laugh.

"Okay. You know how I am getting crowned as king soon?" he asked, his smile dropping. Reagen furrowed her eyebrows. Everyone knew how he was soon-to-be-King of Aurodon. She nodded, motioning for him to continue. "I haven't selected my Royal Advisor yet. I was hoping, maybe, you would-"

"Of course, Ben," Reagen stood up, hugging her best friend. She was ecstatic that he asked her. She knew she would love it, and her and Ben are best friends.

"Seriously, you'll do it?" he smiled. She nodded into his shoulder, and he hugged her tightly.

"I'd be happy to be your Royal Advisor. Real question is how Audrey is going to react to you not picking her. I want to be there for that," she laughed, sitting back down on her bed. Ben sat beside her, getting ready for his next decision.

"So, now that you're my almost Royal Advisor," he trailed. "I have my first proclamation." Reagen could smell the nervousness seeping off of Ben, and it concerned her. Ben was calm and confident, not whatever he was showing right now.

"You're scaring me, Ben," she said concerned.

"I want to give the kids on the Isle of the Lost a chance in Aurodon," he said fast, pursing his lips after. Reagen's eyes widened with excitement.

"Seriously? I've always wanted to meet them!" she squealed. Reagen's smile was huge, as if it was about to come off of her face.

"You think it's a good idea?" Ben asked, smiling slightly.

"Yes! They need a chance to get off that island. As your Royal Advisor, I approve!" Reagen laughed. Happiness was radiating off of him, and he turned to Reagen even more.

"Okay, I've already picked the five we're going to bring over. We've got Cruella DeVille's son, Carlos, Jafar's son, Jay, The Evil Queen's daughter Evie, Mother Gothel's son, Gus, and Maleficent's daughter, Mal."
