The Game

Life's a game to me,

I confess.

Nothing compares

to the feeling I get

watching my pawns

jump to my

defense.

Where they see

the problem

I see the consequence.

I like to watch them

dance

to the tune of my

supposed innocence.

Weave between them

like the spider

weaves her web.

I play them all

like they're my

puppets,

watch them waltz,

watch them turn,

watch them fall,

watch me rise.

I've got them

exactly where

I want them.

And if I play

the game right,

they will be

the cause of their

own downfall.
