Chapter 4

John Pov

"It was just a dream.... It was just a dream."

Seeing as it is almost 6 in the morning now since I couldn't go back to sleep. And school starts in about an hour or so and might as well get ready. Because either way it's gonna be a long day for me. I just hope Doc doesn't get mad. He's terrifying when he gets mad. He must have to deal with a lot of people since there is a lot of fighting going on.

Time skip to Remi POV

"Ugh when is this class going to end?" I thought

It feels like I have been in the class for almost an eternity. It's so boring. Let me be free.

"John, you're late to my class." I heard the teacher say furious

"Sorry sir, it won't happen again." John replied with a bit of worry

On his way to his desk I noticed he had some very noticeable eye bags.

When the bell rang I went up to him.

"Hey John!"

"Oh hi Remi."

"John, did you get any sleep last night?"

"No, not really Remi."

"Tough night?"

"Yeah I guess you can say that."

"Well hopefully you can get some rest tonight."

"Maaan I hope so too."

"Well John, we might want to hurry up to the second period."

"Yeah no kidding, I was already late once today."

"Let's go."

Time skip + John's POV

After second period Remi and I split ways since we only share periods one and two with each other. But this day just feels so long. Maybe it's because I'm just super tired. I knew it was going to be long either way because before fourth period I got jumped and doc wasn't happy since it was my second time this week. Walking into the cafeteria I ran into Remi.

"Jesus John what happened."

"I got jumped by a few mid tiers."

"John, are you okay? That's awful."

"Don't worry Remi, I was able to hold my own."

"But that is unacceptable." she declared

"It's just something I have to live with."

"No you shouldn't have to live with a target on your back."

"There's nothing we can really do in this world sadly."

"Not much of it would be willing to change." I continued

"Maybe we could slowly do it over time." She suggested

"It would have to have every willing to do such a thing."

She gave a slightly defeated sigh

We got our food and sat at a table.

"Hey John?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you want to hang out at the mall with me, Blyke and Isen this weekend?"

"I don't know Remi, they weren't so keen on the idea of you being friends with me."

"Don't worry about them, I've dealt with them."

"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked in a jokingly way

"I just talked to them about what they did." She said in a defensive tone not noticing my sarcasm

"Yeah I guess I don't really have anything better to do." I said with a bit of reluctance

"Yay you won't regret it."

Ring Ring Ring Ring

"Oops that's the bell we better get going" she said

"Yeah yeah."
