Weeks had gone by since I last physically seen Dominik. I took a temporary leave of absence from work, seeing as being around him was something I was trying desperately to avoid. Demi was going to attempt to get him fired, but after begging and pleading for hours, I convinced her otherwise. Dominik however didn't let his presence be forgotten. Every morning that I woke, I had an apology text from him, declaring his love and regret all in one. At least once a week I would find a rose on my front porch, undoubtedly left by him. He even went as far as dedicating his matches in the honor of "His Gatita" on live television every week. I found myself constantly think of him. What was he doing? Where was he when he wasn't at work or with our friends? I guess in the end he was right. He was all I could think about.
With Demi and the guys returning to work, I found myself home alone quite often now. It was a feeling I was getting used to again, but that didn't stop me from jumping at every little sound. Damian had installed a security system, with camera and alarms to give me some sense of safety.
I looked at my phone, the time reading 11:52pm. I had spent most nights barely sleeping, forcing myself to stay awake in case Dom showed up. My eyes were beginning to feel heavy, and I could swear I heard Mr. Sandman knocking on my door. Only, that's when I realized someone was actually knocking on my door. I quickly unlocked my phone and pulled up the app for my security camera, to check who it was. Much to my surprise, there he stood, looking desperately into the camera.
My anxiety level immediately went through the roof. I swallowed harshly as I stood from my spot on the couch. I quietly and cautiously made my way towards the front door, praying that I was smart enough to leave it locked. Of course, I wasn't, and as soon as I rounded the corner, I was met with my front door wide open, and Dominik standing in the doorway.
"Laney..." He breathed out, his dark eyes entrancing me as they always did. Before I could respond he slammed the door shut behind him, his eyes never leaving mine as he began taking long strides towards me. I found myself taking quick desperate steps backwards, tripping over my own two feet. Before I knew it my back hit the wall and I was in a position I had become all too familiar with when it came to Dominik.
He stood before me; mere inches left between us. I watched his chest rise and fall quickly, dark circles under his eyes, and a scar beginning to appear on his lip from my sisters attack on him. Suddenly he reached forward, his large, calloused hand wrapping around my neck with ease. He pushed me further into the wall as he held me in place, the air from my lungs struggling to escape under his grip.
"D-Dom...please.." I managed to choke out, tears freely rolling down my cheeks as I squirmed under him, desperately trying to free myself. A darkness loomed over him as he stared me down, his frame towering over me and encapsulating me. His eyes darted back and forth between my own, and my lips. His next move took what air I had left right from me. Before I could register what was happening, his lips were on mine, aggressively. He kissed me so deeply, with savage intent to claim as his own once again. He slowly loosened his grip around my neck, causing me to stumble forward against him, given him the chance to deepen the kiss.
One arm wrapped around my waist with ease, the other reached up to tangle a hand in my knotted hair. My head was spinning, the earth around me was shattering from the sheer velocity of his kiss. Against my better judgment, I gripped the collar of his shirt so tightly my knuckles began to go white.
"Dom...mm...Domi-" I struggled to say between kisses.
"Laney...please..." He begged between gasps of air, holding onto me tighter than he ever has before. My heart pounded against my chest at the way my name rolled off his tongue. I had never actually heard him call me by my name, it was always a pet name. While in my thoughts he reached down, using both hands to lift me up, wrapping my legs around his waist but never breaking the kiss. He began carrying me towards the couch with ease, when our "moment" was abruptly interrupted by the sound of my phone ringing. I quickly used what strength I could muster to drop back to the ground, lightly pushing him away and creating some space.
I heard a frustrated groan fall from his lips as I went to the other side of the room and grabbed my phone.
"Shit." I muttered, looking at the caller ID. I took a deep breathe, trying to calm myself before hitting accept.
"Hey sis." I answered awkwardly.
"Hey Laney, everything okay?" She asked on the other end. I drew in a sharp breath and nodded as if she could see me.
"Yeah, everything is fine. Why?" I asked.
I could hear the hesitation on the other end, "Well um, Dominik never showed up for work tonight. I was worried if he wasn't here, he would try to show up there knowing we wouldn't be there." She sighed.
I sucked in my lower lip "Oh wow, well he's definitely not here." I mentally slapped myself for sounding so awkward. "I think the cameras Damian installed should scare off anyone really." I chuckled lightly.
"Right..." she trailed off. "If anything happens, call me or one of the boys immediately. Love you sissy." She spoke. before ending the call. I let out a breath I wasn't aware I was holding on to and set my phone down, mentally cursing myself. I shook my head before turning around to face Dominik again, only he was nowhere to be seen. A small frown formed on my lips; he was just here. Where did he go? I began looking around the house to see if he was simply hiding somewhere, but unfortunately for me he wasn't. It was then I heard my phone go off once again. I quickly made my way over to it and unlocked it, reading the message that came through.
Dominik: Goodnight Gatita.
