The next morning I wake up to a bright light shining in my eyes. I turn toward my desk to check the time on my clock. It doesn't really matter what time it is today because there is no school. 9:34. Last night was over whelming. I was asked to homecoming, and I need to buy a dress. I've got the money, I just need the company. I reach for the my phone that sits next to my clock. As I yawn, I text my friends Allison, Michelle, and Melody if they are busy today. Hoping they'll reply soon, I roll out of bed and walk to my closet to change. It would be nice if I look appealing, so I decide to pick something sophisticated but comfy.
After dressing myself, I pick up my phone to check if any of them have replied to my text. They have agreed that they are available and that they will meet me at my house at 10:30. I'm relieved that I won't be shopping for my dress alone.

As Michelle, Allison, Melody, and I arrive to the mall, we stop by Starbucks to get drinks. I order my drink after they have. After ordering I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn around to see Daniel smiling. We greet each other by a kiss. I hear my friends giggling in the background taking pictures and screaming "P.D.A." I love them all to death, but they irritate my soul to death.
We've all agreed that Daniel was more than welcomed to stay with us as we pick out our dresses. Melody was asked by her boyfriend Jason. Michelle was asked by her good friend Michael. We call them "M&M." Allison was asked by her boyfriend Ryan. And obviously I was asked by Daniel. I knew that Cameron was planning to ask me to homecoming, but we all know what happened. Homecoming is just in 3 weeks and I still need to buy my ticket. I'll have a chance to buy one next week. The homecoming theme is "Hollywood Night." It'll be held in a hotel/casino. I hope it'll be exciting. I'm planning to buy a red dress, but I'm still unsure on what i really want.
As we walk towards the nearest dress store, Daniel takes my hand. His grip is so firm. It reminds me of how my dad held my hand when I was young. My dad is serving in the military right now, so I haven't seen him in two years. I really miss him. Daniel's assuring grip made me feel safe. Just as we continue to walk, I hear picture taking again. "Oh my gosh guys! You guys are so freaking adorable! May I post this on Instagram Sage!!!!" Daniel looks back and says "Go ahead Melody." His voice to suttle. "Thanks man!" He smiles down at me. I let out a giggle as he kisses my forehead.
I look up and see the lights twitching. I point it out to Daniel. He tells me its most likely an electrical problem that will be fixed soon. I sigh in relief and continue walking. The ground begins to shake. We all exchange worried looks. Daniel looks at me worried. He makes sure I'm okay. I nod in approval. The ground begins to shake even more violently. I fall to the floor hitting my head screaming. I see no sign of Michelle, Allison, Melody,or Daniel. I watch the debris of the roof fall to the floor as I lay still. My head hurts. A debris comes my way, but I have no conscious control to move. Tears streaming down my face from fear. The debris lands near me effecting my head. Then all is silent and black.

Opening my eyes slowly, a bright light shines in my face. I can't quite figure out where I am at the moment. I'm lying down, and wherever I happen to be, I am traveling. I hear voices but I am unable to make out what they are saying. The light moves left to right.
"Hello? Ma-am?"
I try lifting my head to see my surroundings. I can not move my head.
"Where am I?"
"Oh good you can here me. Can you tell me your name?"
"Uhm, Sage Matthews..."
"Okay Sage, we are taking you to St.Basil's Hospital. We will be arriving there quite shortly. Hang in there okay?"
I nod and everything goes black yet again.

My eyes slowly open. There is beating sound throbbing in my head.
A women approaches me. She places her hand on my head. Her touch so gentle. She smiles with her pearly white teeth.
"How are you feeling Sage?"
"I'm not quite sure. What happened? Why am I here?"
"You don't know why you are here?"
"Not a clue."
"Well, my name is Nurse Ann. I will be taking care of you for the next couple of weeks. There was a 8.3 earthquake five days ago. You have been resting here at St.Basil's hospital during that time. You're friends are doing all right. It seems that you have gotten the most damage. You will be alright."
I'm suddenly confused.
"Friends? What friends? What earthquake? What hospital?"
Nurse Ann gave me a confused look.
I give her a confused look back.
"Excuse me Sage. I'll be back in a moment. " Nurse Ann exits the room. I slowly sit up. The room is filled with vibrant colored balloons and flowers. The aroma from the flowers is delightful.
Nurse Ann returns into my room.
