sunoo's mind raced. a part of him wanted to pull away, to put some distance between them and clear his head. but another part of him, a louder part, wanted to stay right where he was, to savor the warmth and closeness of jay's body next to his.
just as sunoo began to relax into the moment, the spell was abruptly broken by the shrill ring of a phone. both boys jolted upright, the intimacy of the moment shattered. jay groaned and reached for his phone, glancing at the screen before answering. "hello?"
sunoo could hear mr. kim's voice on the other end of the line, sharp and urgent. "where are you two? you're late! you need to hurry up and get ready."
jay's eyes widened in alarm as he ended the call. "we're late," he said, scrambling out of bed. "we need to get moving."
sunoo's heart raced as he sprang into action. "i'll get the clothes," he said, heading for the closet. "you go take a bath."
jay nodded and hurried into the bathroom, leaving sunoo to pick out their outfits for the day. as he laid out the clothes, his mind kept drifting back to the moment they'd just shared. what did it all mean? did jay feel the same way he did?
when jay emerged from the bathroom, steam billowing out behind him, he crossed the room and kissed sunoo's forehead. the simple gesture made sunoo's heart flutter, and he felt his cheeks heat up once again. "your turn," jay said with a soft smile.
sunoo nodded, his mind a whirlwind of emotions as he headed into the bathroom. the warm water did little to calm his racing thoughts. by the time he was dressed and ready, he felt more confused than ever.
when sunoo entered the living room, he found jay, niki, and jungwon already eating breakfast. sunoo took a seat beside jay, who leaned in and whispered, "niki's been glaring at me ever since he woke up."
sunoo glanced at niki, who quickly looked away, a scowl on his face. sunoo sighed, niki had been acting weird the whole morning now.
