I wake up from the loud noise of my alarm. Do I hate waking up early? Well, it depends, but when I'm home from a long trip I really want to throw the alarm from the window.
I get up, brush my teeth and put some tsipouro with a lot of water and ice ( τσίπουρο, it's an alcoholic beverage but it's like 40%- 45%vol of alcohol. It's very good and tasty) to drink, so I can relax and start my day.
I put on a white tank top and some athletic shorts and head downstairs to join my mom for breakfast.
I haven't told her quite a lot about Olivia yet, just that I met a really sweet and cute girl while I was on my flight.
She knows I like girls for a long time, she was unsure at first but she fully supports me now.
She is like my best friend while being my mom and I'm so grateful for her.
We chat for a bit, she makes coffee and I make some eggs to eat for breakfast. It's time to go to the restaurant now.
After about 20 mins I'm there and I go at the back of the restaurant where the staff area is and change to my working clothes, I put my phone on do not disturb and go into the kitchen.
"Hello" I say to the chefs and the waiters.
They all erupt in cheers when they see me entering the kitchen.
"Ok let's get cooking" I shout letting everyone know we are ready to roll.
Time flies by when you are in the kitchen. I'm glad I can do something I love and get paid for it while also making other people happy. It's like a gift that I can share with everyone.
It was now late at night about 11 and I was tired. The kitchen of the restaurant was already closed for 2 hours but I stayed behind to help the others clean up. The bar was still open and people were still drinking.
I finally took a break and sat on a chair and just watched the sea. This time of year it gets dark pretty late so about an hour ago there was still light.
My mind again drifted to Olivia and I couldn't help but smile as I remembered sitting with her on her room, admiring every feature on her face.
I was so close, yet so far.
I was mesmerized by the sea and the thoughts about Olivia that I didn't hear the barman Nick calling me.
"Argent" he shouted
"Yeah" I replied
"Someone is on the phone looking for you" he said
"Looking for me?" I said confused
Who would be looking for me?
Maybe the fisherman to pay him for this and the lasts week's supply's."Ask who is it?" I demand and he does
"They say you know them, and they'll tell you if you come speak on the phone" he said
"Fine ok" I say getting up to pick up the phone
"Hello" I say waiting a response from the unknown caller.
"So you will just ignore me for the rest of your life?" said the sweetest voice ever.
Fuck. Olivia.
"I'm sorry, I thought I replied to your messages" I reply lying knowing full well that I was purposely ghosting her.
Why do I feel I'm going to fumble yet again?
"Yeah okay you can tell me all those lies when I'm there. We have a lot to discuss" she said
"WHAT? HERE? Wait don't you have your or something? " I reply while I start panicking
"I have a break. Next show is in a week. Now would you like to come pick me from the airport because I won't take a taxi there?" She said and I was just left shocked.
"Yeah, yeah I'll be there in 30 mins" I said
"Can't wait to see you.... Again" she said and I felt my stomach starting doing backflips and full 360s and all I could do was smile. Smile big.
"Can't wait to see you too" I said and picked my keys from the counter.
