Mission Erika: Cracking the Ice

"Hi Erika! Good morning!"

"Mhm."

It was an early Friday morning as I made my way to my sit next to Erika after greeting her.

Sure it was a dream of some sort maybe? To be accepted by Erika. But to be accepted and to be loved are two different things. 

Well at least that's what Alfred usually says to me. Wondered how he knew?

I guess it wasn't me the only one who thought that this relationship (?) was at a stale.

Dieter and Joseph did try to talk me through things but I can't help but feel if she was forced to accept me.

TIme skip to break I was about to head out to have lunch with the boys but I stopped at my tracks and turned around to see Erika still doing her work.

"Hey Erika."

"Hm?"

"It's break you know? You should get something to eat."

"No."

"Wh-"

"Can't you see I'm a bit busy here Jyn?" Erika replied back as I could detect a hint of anger in her tone.

"Ah...Well do you want anything?" and I received only a shook as a reply.

I then head out and went to a nearby vending machine to get a bar of chocolate and a can of energy drink.

"Here," I said passing her the items.

She stopped whatever she was doing and looked at me.

"What's this for?"

"If you can't go for lunch you should at least take a bite."

'What is this boy doing?' Erika thought to herself whilst looking at the person in front of her.

She stared at the bar in Jyn's hands as she furrowed her brows in confusion. She was not accustomed to such gestures from well anyone. His unexpected kindness left her feeling unsteady, like she was navigating uncharted waters. Her heart ached with a mix of suspicion and curiosity, wondering what had prompted this rare act of warmth.

"T-thank you," Erika reluctantly took the items as she was trying her hardest to not break character.

"Welcome Erika," Jyn responded with a smile.

As soon as she made sure Jyn had turned away from class her cheeks immediately became flushed.

"Achtung! The 64th National High School Senshado Tournament is around the corner. We have drawn Chi-Ha-Tan Academy for the first round," Maho began her opening speech in regards to the tournament.

"Chi-Ha-Tan is going to be easy!"

"Yeah! All they know is banzai!"

"They sure don't know crap about a tactic or two."

I began to hear remarks against Chi-Ha-Tan from the other Senshado members in the shed.

"What are your thoughts Jyn?" Alfred asked as he nudged me.

"They're fast. That's for sure."

"Which would put us on the other end of the stick if the battle dragged out as a literal cat and mouse chase. Considering most of Kuromorimine's machinery are medium and heavy tanks."
