"You have been summoned here today as we review the conditions of our fight-to-the-death prank war."

George cleared is throat dramatically as he rolled out a long piece of parchment on the table in front of him.

It was shortly after breakfast Saturday morning, and as many people were making their ways to Hogsmeade to take advantage of the after-holiday sales, Maxine and her friends were sitting at the Gryffindor house table talking with Fred and George, and their friend Lee.

Students passing by gave them odd looks and the occasional eye-roll as George began to babble on about famous prank-masters and the mark they made on society.

"Can we please get on with it?" Tamsin huffed out as George began a new rant about the unfairness of punishments against those just trying to have a laugh. "Some of us have shit to do."

"Oh please," Heidi rolled her eyes. "The only thing we have is Quidditch and that's not until later."

Maxine sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. She stayed silent, simply waiting for the banter to stop.

Fred cleared his throat as well. He sat next to Maxine, and every movement of his bumped her gently. "As you all are aware, we were threatened with death if our prank war were to cause any more issues. Due to this, we must lay some new ground rules." Fred pulled a pot of ink and quill from his back. "Any questions before we commence?"

The three girls shook there head and waited for him to continue.

Fred rolled up his sleeves dramatically before putting his quill to the parchment. "All options for potential rules are on the table. The ultimate goal is to ensure that no one gets in trouble -- or at least more trouble that we have already been in."

There was a moment of silent before Maxine spoke. "No using fears or personal information when pranking."

Heidi raised her eyebrows before nodding. "Sounds reasonable."

Silence continued until everyone began to throw out different suggestions.

"No getting help from other students. I know Alicia told you about the monkey."

"No pranking in class-- I don't want to lose house points."

"No causing harm to mind, body, or property. Must be temporary and virtually harmless"

"No crying."

Maxine squinted at George. "No crying? Who the hell would cry?"

"You'd be surprised the number of students who have cried after getting pranked," Lee informed them.

"It's mostly first years," Fred stated as he scribbled on the parchment. "The occasional seventh year cries too."

Maxine didn't know what to say in response. She couldn't imagine what type of pranks the twins did that resulted in people crying. She watched as Fred put down his quill and took a long look at the rules that they had made. Then his eyes seemed to brighten for a moment as he picked back up his quill. "The final rule, when it's all over -- " He glanced up at Maxine -- "No grudges."
