Taylor's Pov:
It was really quiet as I entered my home, with Tree by my side. Benji came over to greet us and our newest little family member.
"Hi Benj" I said, wincing as I crouched down to greet him, still sore after giving birth.
"Taylor get up, you shouldn't be crouching like that" Tree scolded as she held the newborn's car seat in her arms. She placed the car seat on the ground and came over to help me up.
"Sorry" I mumbled, looking over at my son, smiling softly at him. He was sound asleep.
Benji walked towards the car seat and confusedly looked up at me, tilting his head. I chuckled as Tree picked the car seat up, not wanting to risk Benji scratching the baby out of curiosity.
"It's your little brother Benj, mommy had a baby" I said, even though I knew he wouldn't understand me. Benji ignored me and got on his two back legs to scratch up my legs, wanting to be picked up. I picked him up and we walked to the living room where Tree got me situated on the couch, not allowing me to move from there.
"Have you texted Joe?" Tree asked, finishing up my tea she was making for me.
"No" I mumbled, not wanting to face the fact that I had to tell him his son was just born. Joe and I didn't end on the best terms but we also agreed to be civil with each other for the sake of our baby. I did wish that I had full custody over him, but unfortunately I'm not one to take his son away from him, when he never did anything drastic for me to do so. Joe breaking my heart wasn't my baby's fault, and he deserved his father in his life.
"Tay, you have to tell him" She said, sitting next to me and handing me the cup of steaming tea.
"I know but I want to tell Travis first"
"You didn't tell Travis either?" She asked in disbelief.
I shook my head and looked at my baby that was still in his car seat on the coffee table.
"Not even that you went into labor?"
"No" I sipped my drink and petted Benji's fur.
"Why?? Taylor you know he's going to be worried sick when he finds out you went into labor and didn't tell him" She whispered yelled, not wanting to wake the baby up.
"I didn't want to disturb him, it's not his baby. And he's preparing for the super bowl, that's enough stress on his back." I said, watching as Michael stired and slowly opened his eyes. I smiled and asked Tree to get him out for me. I was still so sore from giving birth, he was extremely painful, I couldn't imagine having anymore kids.
"Taylor you know he doesn't care about that. He would've been by your side the second you texted him you were in labor, you know he didn't want you to give birth alone" She scolded, grabbing Michael gently, and placing him in my arms. I smiled down at my baby and rubbed his soft cheek with my finger, his piercing blue eyes mirroring mine.
"I know but technically I wasn't alone, I had you" I smiled and gave her my best puppy eyes, not wanting her to be mad at me anymore.
Her gaze softened as she smiled and sighed. She wrapped her arm around my shoulder looking down at the newborn baby in my arms. Tree really was there for me through my entire pregnancy and having her in the delivery room with me, made me so much more grateful to have her in my life. She was like a second mother to me, always supporting me through anything even if she didn't quite agree with it. That's why I chose her to be my baby's godmother, although I haven't told her yet.
"Okay, but you have to tell him, like now. You know he doesn't care, even if he's at the most important thing in the world, if you need him, he'll be here and I know you want him to come" She said, running her hand through my hair.
