It's strange how fast things can change when 2 objects are put in the same circumstances. For example, put a cactus and a daisy under the burning sun for a weeks with no water and watch as the cactus thrives while the daisy shrivels up and dies. These thoughts raced through 9 year old Heejin's head as she sat in her garden and pieced a lousy daisy chain together. On the other side of the fence she could hear a dog barking, while 2 young boys yelled catch at one another. The family next door had recently moved in, and although she was living directly next to them Heejin had no clue who they were. That was until a tennis ball came shooting towards her head.

Her head pounded, it hurt so much that she considered wrapping a scarf so hard around it that it exploded completely.

"Ow.." she muttered quietly before standing up to look in the direction of where the ball came from. Of course-her new neighbours.
Though the girl was in deep pain she had no intent in letting the hit slide as of right now. She had to confront them.
"Hey!" It took all the strength in her to hold back the embarrassing voice crack hiding behind the shout. Heejin stood up on her tippy toes to see the boys.
"Yo can you pass it back?" Her eyes snapped towards the boy with the irritatingly casual tone. She looked him up and down in disgust and fury. He had only spoken a few words and she could tell he was bad news. She inspected his annoyingly messy hair, his annoyingly wrinkled shirt but most of all his annoyingly confused face. If there was something Heejin hated the most in the world- it was people who were incapable of doing simple things, like reading the room.
"Pass it back!?" She imitated him. "You hit my head you idiot!"
A gasp could be heard from the side of his garden. The other boy looked at Heejin in shock. It was unheard of for 9 year olds to be saying the no-no word.
"..an idiot?! Did you just call me an idiot?! Wow I really must have hit your head for you to say that to me!" The boy marched closer to her and also got on his tippy toes to be eye to eye with her.
"Apologise or I swear-"
"What? You gonna out throw another ball at me?!"
"Well maybe I will!"
"Too bad it's in my garden!"
He rolled his eyes before scoffing and turning to his friend.
"Let's go back in Sunghoon. This girl's crazy" He brang a finger next to his head and made a circle- symbolising someone mental.
She clenched her jaw and watched as the boy turned her back on her and began walking back into his house, the dog following after him.
"Sorry about your head" She looked back to her front side. It was 'Sunghoon.' The boy had an innocent face. His eyebrows were thick and his lips looked soft and pink. His hair was kept in a neat curtain style on top of his head. This guy was a complete opposite of the other dude.
"Whatever" muttered Heejin before she went back onto her feet and retreated back into her own house.

The girl walked in clutching her head. Her mother's eyebrows furrowed in concern as she detached from the dish she was washing.
"What's wrong honey?"
"I HATE HIM!"
She stormed off to her room with tears glistening in her eyes.

From then on Heejin knew-the boy next door was a pure idiot, she was never going to willingly spend a millisecond with him and her free time would be spent on making his life hell.
