🎙2022🎙

From our friend group, I was the first one who had arrived at our usual meeting spot. I was able to save one of the round tables located in the outdoor seating area underneath a red and white umbrella to shield us from the bright sun. I sat down, placing my lunch bag on the table waiting for my boyfriend and the rest of my friends who were making their way here from their respective classrooms.

Soon as the bell rang, Peyton had texted our group chat saying she had something exciting to share with us at lunch time. I just know that it has to do with this year's school play.

"There is my gorgeous girl." I heard my boyfriend saying as he sat down right beside me. I felt my boyfriend's lips leaving a kiss on my right cheek being followed by wrapping an arm around my shoulders.

"Hi, my handsome boyfriend." I greeted him, laying my head down on his shoulder. "How did your exam go?"

"I just love it when you call me your handsome boyfriend, Aubs." Calvin said, placing one of his hands on top of mine. "The exam I think went well, there were some difficult questions but I believe that I will be getting a good grade."

"I know that's why I will keep calling you until the end of time." I told him, lifting my head from his shoulder to give him a quick kiss on his lips. "I am proud of you for doing well on your exam, babe."

"Please don't you dare to stop, I will never get tired of hearing it." Calvin said, smiling big after he felt my lips on his. "Do you want to have half of my nuggets?"

"Cal, trust me, I will never stop calling you handsome." I told him as I opened up my lunch bag, I got out my lunch and placed it down on the table. "Yes please, I would love that, in return you can have half of my sandwich."

Calvin looked at me, showing me a smile, placing half of his nuggets on my lunch container and he took half of my sandwich and he placed it in his container. "Deal, you know how much I love your sandwiches."

"Babe, I am glad that you love them because they are one of my many specialties." I said, dipping one of my nuggets on the barbecue sauce that Calvin did bring before taking a bite.

"Hey Calvin and Aubree, how is it going?" Samuel greeted us, joining us at the table, sitting down next to Calvin. "Did I miss anything?"

"Hello Calvin and Aubree, how is it going?" I heard Samuel say joining us at the table sitting down next to Calvin. "Did I miss anything?"

"Hey, Sam, our day is going well, thank you for asking. How is your day going?" I asked him, seeing him placing his backpack down on the table. "The only thing you missed was Calvin being a good boyfriend. Other than that you're good, we are waiting for Peyton and Tristan to get here."

"I ran into Peyton and Tristan in the cafeteria getting their lunch, they should be here any minute. To answer Aubree's question, my day is going well too." Samuel answered my question, taking out his lunch from his backpack and placing it in front of him at an arm reach. "I knew that there was a good interaction between the two of you because of how big you guys are smiling. This is part of the reason why the school calls you one of the cutest couples here at school, next to Peyton and Tristan, of course."

"We all know that Aubree and Calvin are cute so I will give them that." Tristan said, joining our conservation, sitting down next to Samuel, leaving his backpack on the ground. "Hello, everyone, we have arrived!"

"There might be a list but everyone who is a couple at this school is cute in their own unique way." Peyton said, sitting down next to her boyfriend, placing her backpack on the ground and she set her lunch tray down on the table.

"So, Peyton, are you going to share with us the exciting thing you talked about on our group chat?" Samuel asked her as he stood up to throw away his trash in the nearest trash can.

My boyfriend and Tristan were kind enough to pick up our trash to throw it away in the nearest trash can after the four of us had finished eating our lunch. Both of them returned to the table, two minutes later.

"Samuel, yes I am to share it with everyone. I can't wait to hear what everyone thinks." Peyton asked Samuel's question as she reached into her backpack and pulled out some fliers and started passing one of the flyers to four of us. "This year's spring play was just announced today, everyone."

My best friend mentioning the school's play got my attention. As a person who loves to spend time listening to the soundtrack of plays. I love hearing when the theater teacher has chosen the play for the school year.

I smiled at my best friend, took the flier from her hand and started it. "The little mermaid! I remember watching the movie so many times while growing up. This sounds like a good play to be a part of."

"The endless amount of sleepovers at my house where we watched that movie." My best friend made eye contact with me, returning my smile. "Bree, I agree with you, I believe the little mermaid as a play is a good choice. I was wondering if you guys would like to be part of this year's play, it would be a way to end our senior year."

"I would love to be part of this year's play with all of us, for the last time. I am not going to pass on the opportunity to create more memories with all of you before our senior year is over." Calvin spoke after me while he played with my hair.

"I am in as well, I can't wait to be part of another play with you my friends." Samuel spoke, sharing his opinion after he had finished reading the flyer, setting it back on the table.

Tristan kissed her girlfriend on her left cheek before wrapping an arm around her shoulders. "I already knew about what the play was going to be. Baby, you don't have to ask me twice, you know I love doing anything that gets me to spend more time with you."

"Aubs, what about you? Are you in?" My boyfriend asked me, making the entire focus of our friend group. "My last track session will be over by the rehearsal start, that is if I will get the part which means I am going to have free time to be able to do more things. I will be happy to audition for the school's play."

"Well, yay, I am glad to hear that everyone is in, I can't wait to see how this year's play goes." My best friend spoke as the bell began ringing, altering us that the lunch time was over and we needed to return to the last remaining classes.

Calvin's nicknames for Aubree is one of my favorites things about him.
