Denise was mumbling to herself as she typed another line. This book wasn't flowing as smoothly as she wanted. Her mind was distracted with thoughts of Tom. He invaded every part of her brain. She laughs at herself.. smitten by a man she doesn't really know but is very attracted to. She stands and stretches, wondering if they are truly compatible. She shakes the thought away and goes into the kitchen to get more coffee. This was already her third cup today. At this rate, she'll be a shaky, anxious mess, no further in her writing than she was yesterday. She carefully takes her coffee back into her office. As she sits back down, her phone rings. She glances at the ID, and her eyes widen, seeing it's Tom calling. They haven't done any talking since the festival but have texted back and forth. She takes a deep breath and answers it. "Hello Denise, it's good to hear your voice again. How are you doing?" Tom asks her, his beautiful voice giving her goosebumps. "I'm good, just writers block, but I'll get out of my slump." She says,'How are you? "I'm great! I'm enjoying my time off. I had lunch with my family yesterday." He tells her, nervous. "Are you ok, Tom?" She asks, his voice sounding funny. He chuckles a little. "I'm just a bit nervous. I called to see if you still want to have dinner with me? I would really love to cook for you, " He says. She smiles and answers immediately. "Yes, of course I'll have dinner with you, and you're cooking too? I'm there!" She says happily, wondering if she'll get to see his home. "Would you mind if I cooked here at my home?" He asks her. "Not at all... I'd love to see your house Tom." She says softly. Dinner at his place? It brought to mind something romantic and intimate. She was definitely going no matter where! "I'm so glad. Would this Friday work for you?" He asked her. "Yes, what time?" He bit his lip in thought. "Is 6 ok? "Yes, perfect. Um, how do I get there?" She asks. "Oh! Of course, sorry. I'll have my driver pick you up if that's alright?" He tells her. "Definitely alright. I look forward to Friday. To answer two questions you haven't asked, I have no food allergies, and I don't like brussel sprouts or artichokes."She tells him. He laughs. "I'm glad you cleared that up," He says, teasing. She blushes and is glad he can't see it. "You dress however you like, ok? Whatever you're comfortable in." He tells her. She sighs in relief. She enjoyed dressing up at times, but she's glad that pressure is off. "Ok, sounds good. I'm looking forward to seeing you again. " She says softly. Tom smiles and feels his heart beat faster. "I'm looking forward to seeing you, Denise. I'll call you later, ok? It's time for Bobby's walk. Take care, " He says. They both tell each other goodbye in almost a whisper. She swears she swooned. He was so..so...wow...just...Tom.
