Picnic

Genya had approached Muichiro with his plan in mind, though it took him a bit to actually ask him. "S-so Muichiro, (oops, stuttering made it worse) do you want to g-go on a picnic with m-me?"

Muichiro's eyes shone. "Yes. I'd love to." Though he didn't directly sound like it, Muichiro was giving off exited energy. That was a good sign, maybe.

Genya had picked out a spot under a majestic weeping willow, and they set up. Muichiro had brought something with him.

"Hey Mui, er, Muichiro, what do you have with you?" Genya was a nervous wreck. He felt stupid after calling Muichiro that too. It was purely an accident, because Muichiro's name was long, but he still felt dumb.

"Oh, it's some origami paper. Did you just call me 'Mui'? I like it. You should keep saying that."

Genya felt flustered, and by accident, agreed to keep calling him that. Guess I'm stuck calling him that now. Oh well, at least he likes it.

"You brought origami paper with you? What do you like to make?

"Oh, I know a couple designs, but my favorites are the flying ones. They are based off of flying machines."

"That's.. actually really cool. Can I see one?"

Genya watched patiently as Muichiro made a paper airplane, then threw it.

"Wow, it goes really far. That's pretty cool."

Muichiro smiled at this comment, and it made Genya feel more warm and fuzzy inside than he'd like to admit.

Just then, an idea popped inside Genya's head. Maybe it was a bad one that he'd regret, but at the time it seemed good. He hid Mui's paper while he wasn't looking, and Muichiro offered to go get more, giving him a small window of time to work with.

Muichiro was having a lot of fun with Genya at the picnic. They'd caught tadpoles in the steam nearby, he'd shown Genya his paper flying machine collection, and he'd eaten delicious homemade food.

When he came back with more paper, Genya said he had something to show him.

"So, close your eyes, and hold out your hand, ok?"

"Ok."

Muichiro felt something light being placed in his hand.

"Ok, I know it's bad, but it's my first time so don't laugh. You can open your eyes now."

Inside his hand there was a crooked, clumpy paper airplane that probably wouldn't even fly, but it was neatly folded and he could tell a lot of effort was put into it.

Muichiro, usually a quiet, stoic person, completely changed energy.

"I-I love it!"

From Genya came a mildly surprised: "you do?"

"Yes! It's beautiful. Thank you."

Then, Muichiro did something that definitely caught Genya off-guard. He leaned in, and wrapped his arms around Genya's waist in a hug.

"U-Uh...."

Muichiro, with his head on Genya's chest, (because of the height difference) could hear Genya's heart beating frantically.

Finally, after an awkward few seconds, Genya returned the hug.

His mind was a mess. He was so close to Mui, who was very warm and cozy, Genya noticed. He was undoubtedly turning a bright shade of red, though Muichiro couldn't see his face, luckily.

As Genya was thinking about how close Muichiro was to him, his mind snapped back to reality when he heard something that sounded like sniffing.
