CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN
❛ family dinner ❜

THE SCENT OF fresh morning air wafted through the open windows, meeting your nostrils as you sunk deeper into the cushions of the dormitory couch. You silently twirled your locks of [h/c] hair as your eyes wandered uninterestedly over the bright television that was displayed before you. Mina plopped down beside you, raising the volume, her eyes locked onto the bright display with curiosity. Cradled in-between her arms was a large bowl of popcorn, which was already half empty, even after being taken out of the microwave two minutes earlier. Momo and Hagakure were in the kitchen making food, while a few other students were seated at the dining table playing a game of cards. It was the weekend, and there wasn't much to do except to catch up on homework and entertain yourselves.

The sudden dinging of a notification sounded from your lap, startling you a bit. Taking a hold of the device, your eyes darted over the screen with confusion.

"Ooohhh, is that Bakugo?" Mina's teasing voice cut through the sound of the movie, taking you by surprise. You took a second to process what she had said, before frantically shaking your head.

"W-What?! No, it's my mom..." You said, a bit embarrassed. Your plan with Bakugo had to be put on hold for now. A few of the 1-A students noticed you locking lips with Todoroki last night, grasping their attention. Your plan to win Todoroki back was turning into an unplanned love-triangle. It was much messier than you had planned, and you were sure Bakugo didn't plan on your fake "relationship" lasting this long. Turning your attention back toward your phone screen, you read through the message.

"Oh, my mom invited me to dinner..." As you continued to read, you realized she had invited you and Todoroki to dinner. You sighed, forgetting to inform your mom of the breakup. She loved Todoroki, you felt bad about breaking her heart. Mina peeked over at your messages.

"Oh, man." She muttered. "Well, maybe you could take someone else. Like, I don't know, Bakugo?" You glanced at Mina, confused at her persistent suggestions. You haven't talked to Bakugo in a few days— it's almost as if he was avoiding you. You weren't sure if you wanted to invite him to dinner.

"He's been in a really bad mood," Mina added, catching your attention. "Maybe some dinner would cheer him up?" Okay, it seems that Bakugo was avoiding everyone, not just you. He'd been locked away in his room, and wouldn't speak to anyone in class. Biting your lip, you thought to yourself. It wouldn't hurt to take Bakugo. He was your friend, after all.

Making your way through the dormitory and through the boys rooms, you found Bakugo's room. You knocked on the door awaiting an answer, but to no avail.

"Anyone there?" You questioned, knocking again. You didn't see Bakugo downstairs, and he didn't leave the building, so he had to be in his room. There was shuffling on the opposite side of the door, before it cracked open, revealing maroon-colored eyes. Bakugo peeked through the crack, not wanting to open the door completely.
