Chapter Three
I crack my eyes open and feel around my duvet for my phone that was calling my attention. I picked it up and answered it.
“Hello?” I said groggily into the device.
“Good morning, beautiful.” Mason said happily. I smiled at that and waited for him to continue. “Uh, Get dressed. We have some shopping to do!” He said excitedly. I sat up, as much as I hate to admit it, I loved shopping.
“For what?” I asked walking to my closet.
“Well, my dear. Tomorrow is you're seventeenth birthday. And I have made plans that require you to be best dressed. So get ready I'll be over in twenty.” He said hanging up to keep me from asking my birthday plans. To be honest I totally forgot my birthday was tomorrow. Oh well.
I walked around in my closet trying to find something to wear. I searched around and I wasn't sure what to wear and felt pressed for time. so I just grabbed the first things I got my hands on which turned out to be a pink tank top and distressed jeans. I would probably be trying stuff on anyway.
I quickly took my shower and got dressed. I ran back to the bathroom and cleaned my teeth and brushed through my long hair. I put on a polka dotted head band, separating my long curly hair and my longish straightened bangs.
Once ready, I walked over to my IPhone. Two new messages.
From: My one and only; (Aka Mason)
are you ready yet? Your door is locked...
To: My one and only;
Umm, sorry? Yeah, I'll be out in a second.
I laughed, Mason must have changed his name in my phone. I grab my bag off of the back of my desk chair and ran to my dads bedroom. I peeked my head in and he was watching T.V.
“I'm Leaving daddy,” I told him and he looked up at me.
“Where ya going?”
“Apparently birthday shopping.” He laughed and opened his arm's.
I walked over and hugged him. He mumbled a be careful. I said that I would and left. I walked down the steep stairs of my front porch. And climbed into the passenger seat of my friends car.
“So, where we headed?” I asked. He looked me straight in the eyes with an extremely serious expression.
“SHOPPING!!” He shouted. I giggled at his excitement. He started the engine and began to drive. He clicked on the radio and 'What about us' blasted through the speakers.
