Chapter - 19

Ishan got ready for his school as today he have exam. And headed downstairs. His whole family was already present on the dinning table.

"You are here? Come let's have breakfast, we were waiting for you..." Mr.Gill said once he saw ishan.

Ishan nodded and went there before sitting on a chair, beside Shubman. He glanced at older for a second before turning his graze away.

Mrs.Gill set a plate for ishan and placed it infront of him. Ishan thanked her and everyone start eating peacefully.

"Um Shubman Are you free in afternoon today?" Suddenly Mrs.Gill asked, making everyone look at her.

Shubman thought of a moment before asking,

"I'm not that busy today, why what happened?"

"Actually I talked with the parents of The girl we choose for you, They are okay with you condition of meeting her few times, so we arranged a meeting for you two at xxx restaurant...so can you make time for it?" Mrs.Gill explained.

Just as her words fall, ishan chocked on his food and start coughing badly. His eyes turn teary because of coughing too much.

"Ishu! Are you okay?" Mrs.Gill exclaimed worriedly and was about to hand him a glass of water, but someone beat her in that.

Ishan looked at the hand holding glass stretched infront him before looking up at the owner of hand. Shubman didn't mind his graze and his other hand went to pat younger's back gently.

Ishan grabbed the glass and slowly drink the water. He then put the glass away before taking deep breaths to calm his coughs.

Shubman stare at him with unreadable face, his hand still busy patting Ishan's back.

"I'm okay now..." Ishan said softly while looking at Shubman.

Shubman gave him a nod and retreated his hand from his back before looking at Mrs.Gill.

"Hmm No problem...I will reach there on time, just share me the location" He replied.

Mrs.Gill smiled at him and resumed her eating.

On the other hand ishan lost his all appetite. He felt suffocated at older's words. He lowered his head and bowled his hand into fist, under the table.

Shubman looked at his lowered head and his discomfort.

"Why do you have to pretend like you don't care? Why dammit!!?" Shubman thought to himself and let out a frustrated sigh.

And the next moment Other become startled when suddenly Shubman stand up abruptly.

Everyone stare at him in confusion.

"I'm done, I'm waiting in car " Shubman said the other half of his sentence while looking at ishan.

Without wait for Ishan's reply, he turned around and exited the dinning hall. Ishan keep staring at his back until he disappeared from his sight completely.

"What happened to him, suddenly?" Mrs.Gill asked her husband, frowning.

Mr. Gill shook his head, saying he don't know. Right then, ishan also get up and said,

"I'm done too, I should get going now or else I will be late for exam..."

"Oh okay best of luck for your exam! You can do it my son!" Mr.Gill said while giving a thumps up to him.

Ishan smiled and gave him a firm nod before leaving from there. Mrs.Gill's frown deepened as she watched him leaving.

She is a mother and her mother instinct is telling her that something is bothering her kids.
