The vibrant energy of the party felt distant to Felix as he broke away from Juyeon and stood in the corner, nursing a drink he had barely tasted. Laughter and music swirled around him, but all he could feel was the gnawing sense of loneliness. He scanned the room for the hundredth time, noticed Changbin and Yeonjun in some sort of dance battle, Wooyoung losing his mind laughing at them. Ni-ki was mingling with the other dancers, Juyeon was talking to some girl. It seemed everyone had someone to talk to, someone to laugh with, someone to hold.
There I was again tonight
Forcing laughter, faking smiles
Same old tired, lonely place
Felix sighed and turned his gaze to the floor, wondering why he had even come to this party, why he hadn't taken up Chan on his offer of coming to pick him up. He could have been a blanket burrito back home by now, snuggling with Jisung. He felt out of place, like a shadow in a room full of light. Like a loner in a room full of friends.ó
He scoffed into his drink and glanced up, thinking of ways to either enjoy himself or to make excuses and get out of the club.
And there he was.
The man he was supposed to marry like five years into the future, hopefully.
The same pretty eyes, the same quirky crescented smile.
Wall of insincerity, shifting eyes and vacancy
Vanished when I saw your face.
He felt the air leave his lungs in one swift exhale. The party became a tunneled noise in his mind, the blood roaring in his ears louder than anything as he gaped at the man he should have met again weeks ago, had it not been for their unlucky asses.
Minho.
He didn't even know his last name.
Not that it matters, it will have to change to 'Lee' when he makes him sign the papers.
As beautiful as that week.
Gray hair parted messily, veiny forearms and bulging biceps peeking out of his sleeveless white jacket, thick thighs that Felix hadn't noticed before wrapped in cream trousers, tucked in boots. He looked like someone who had walked out of a fashion show straight into the party, stealing the spotlight and the attention left and right as people ogled at him openly.
Somewhere in the back of Felix's mind, a voice screamed at him that if, when, they ever dated, he will have to fight off some real trouble to keep people's hands off him. The thought of showing Minho off seemed less likely now, solidified by the two instances that he got heads turning in his direction everywhere he went.
But oh, he was so gorgeous.
The disco lights reflected his hair, giving him a silver halo. He looked like an angel dressed in his pale cloths. He felt like a devil smirking so confidently.
All I can say is, it was enchanting to meet you.
Their eyes met when Minho looked away from Yeonjun to greet Wooyoung and Seonghwa.
Felix playfully schooled his expression into an annoyed huff.
