They settled on the couch, with Felix pulling a cozy blanket over his lap as Minho queued up the movie. Tonight's pick was another light-hearted rom-com, something easy to watch and unwind with after a long day. A long day of their own rom-com.
As the movie began, Doongie, sensing the relaxed atmosphere, hopped up onto the couch to join them. Soonie was curled up on Felix's lap, purring contentedly, while Doongie nestled himself at the other end of the couch, as if to claim his spot next to Minho. A few coos from the elder with the promise of fruits, Dori finally ended up prowling over, lazily flopping at their feet, not interested in the movie or the fruits at all.
Felix smiled down at Soonie, gently stroking his fur as he reached for a slice of cheese with his other hand. "This is nice," he murmured, feeling a sense of contentment wash over him.
Minho glanced over at Felix, his heart fluttering at the sight of him looking so relaxed and at ease. "Yeah, it is," he agreed softly, feeling a warmth spread through his chest as he watched Felix interact with the cats and nibble on the snacks.
As the movie played on, Felix found himself slowly sinking deeper into the cushions, the day's exhaustion starting to catch up with him. Between the long dance audition the day before, the chaos last night, the bare amount of sleep and the excitement of their beach date, he was beginning to feel the weight of tiredness pulling at him.
Minho noticed the way Felix's eyelids began to droop, his head slowly tipping to the side. He smiled softly, amused at how Felix was trying to stay awake despite clearly being exhausted.
"Yongboks, you can rest if you want. You are tired." he smiled reassuringly at the blonde who jerked upright and shook his head vehemently.
"No way, I'm fine." he insisted instead, mortified at the idea of falling asleep on Minho, on a home date, on the babies surrounding them. That was next level rude. If he wanted to sleep, he'd ask Minho to drop him home or just walk over. No. He didn't want to sleep. He wanted to watch a movie with Minho.
"Look, I'm fine." he widened his eyes for the effect, staring dead into Minho's eyes who laughed abruptly.
"Ok, if you say so." the elder turned away and Felix slumped back down, scratching Soonie's head, a sigh escaping him as the urge to just close his eyes overcame him rapidly.
Minho watched as Felix's breathing slowed, his body going limp as sleep finally claimed him. He felt a soft pang of affection as he looked down at Felix, his heart melting at the sight of him so peaceful and vulnerable.
The movie continued to play in the background, but Minho's attention was fully on Felix now. He didn't want to disturb him, but he also knew that Felix would be more comfortable in his bed rather than slumped on the couch. He knew from experience that sleeping on couches was a guaranteed regret in the morning.
With careful movements, he slowly picked Soonie up, who let out a forlorn meow at having to part with his new favorite human. He laid him down in his small cat bed and shifted Felix's weight so that he could scoop him up into his arms. Felix murmured something unintelligible in his sleep, nuzzling closer to Minho's chest as he was lifted. His heart fluttered at the soft, trusting way Felix clung to him even in his sleep.
Cradling Felix gently, he stood up and carried him towards his bedroom, making sure not to jostle him too much. Dori and Doongie followed curiously, their little paws padding quietly behind him as he moved through the apartment.
When he reached his bedroom, Minho carefully laid Felix down on the bed, tucking the covers around him to keep him warm. Felix shifted slightly, his hand reaching out instinctively as if searching for Minho. He couldn't help but smile as he gently took Felix's hand, squeezing it reassuringly before he leaned down to press a soft kiss to his forehead.
