_________Ethan didn't know why there were townhouses in Elysium, much less why he had to share one. But he knew he didn't have much room to question it or explain, after all he knew that he wasn't meant to be there.
He was sitting on the bench in front of the three judges; all old, wispy, translucent, and draped in elegant black and gold robes. He nervously tapped his fingers against the wood as they scanned his memories and his throat felt dry; making it hard to swallow.
He knew they were gonna send him to the fields of punishment, and it would be a miracle if all he got was the fields of asphodel. The one in the center; with a long wispy, white beard, slammed a gavel in the bench lightly before clearing his throat.,
"Ethan Nakamura--" A poof of green smoke interrupted him, and surrounded the judges, the three coughed as the smoke swirled around them and it cleared mere moments after it appeared. Before the middle judge sat a piece of parchment, written across in an elegant green ink. The middle judge picked it up hesitsntly, then scanned it briefly before pressing it back down and clearing his throat.
"An executive decision has been made, as you might say, and you have been cleared for Elysium. We have orders to send you to house 127--" If possible the judge seemed to pale, adjusting the spectacles in the bridge of his nose to make sure he read it correctly, "With the other executive decision and m-master Hades's favorite daughter."
Then a skeleton guard grabbed him by the scruff of his neck, and proceeded to lead him through the crowd til they came across a collection of black and silver golf carts. The guard proceeded to pull a pair of keys from his pockets, and slid into the driver seat and started it up. Ethan, kinda weirded out, climbed into the row behind the skeleton, and without warning the guard hit the gas.
Ethan slammed into his seat, painfully. And the guard tore through the shades, who parted immediately as the guard barreled through, as Ethan held onto them seat with a death grip, and wishing the cart had seat belts.
They skidded into a dark dirt path and barreled towards a sleek, shinny pair of silver gates that seemed to have sunlight leaking through. A double honk from the guard and the gates slammed open just as the golf cart skidded through.
Ethan squinted his eyes, there was a sun of sorts, and a sky. A blue sky that stretched from corner to corner and beaten dirt paths and green grass. And townhouses, stretching as far as the eye could see with gardens of flowers and the smell of barbecue lingering in the air.
In no time the driver had stopped in front of a house, bigger then the rest Ethan noticed, and it was black and silver with a skeleton knocker and the number 127 nailed to the front in large silver letters. The skeleton pooped out of the cart and Ethan followed, if not hesitsntly.
The skeleton lead him up the path., which was engraved with gold and silver. And Ethan couldn't help remember that the judge said he was going to live with master favorite daughter, Hades' favorite daughter. Now, Ethan knew Hades didn't have many kids, generally faithful to Persephone, but he did know of a few exceptions. And he supposed he was going to live with a dead one.
The skeleton walked right in, sticking in a silver key he procured from his pocket and Ethan followed him in. His first thought was that the house was a mess. Paint was splattered everywhere-- a red splotch on the wall; green, yellow, and pink spattered along the white marble stairs; and the still swinging crystal chandelier was splattered in a bright purple.
