Came up with this. Might add a part two.
_______Percy lunged towards Annabeth as she cried out. A strand of web tugged on her ankles dragging her backwards into the pit. Into Tartarus. His discarded his sword without a second thought, just hoping, praying to every god he could think of, that he would reach her in time.
His fingers brushed on hers, and for a blissful second he thought he might've got her. Annabeth's fingers slid through his and he hit the floor of the cavern as Annabeth slid into the pit with a deafening scream the broke Percy's heart.
"Percy?" Hazel was scrambling down the ladder as fast as she could, Nico right along with her. Percy's ears were ringing and he was having a hard time registering what happened as Annabeth's screams started to fade.
"Annabeth!" Percy attempted to leap into the pit after her, but Hazel had grabbed his arm; and Nico leaped on the other. "Let me go-- Annabeth!"
Percy thrashed desperately, trying to throw her off as tears prickled in his eyes. Hazel and Nico stayed firm, though tears were streaming down Hazels face as the last of Annabeth's screams faded from the cavern.
That only seemed to infuriate Percy, and Nico started shouting for Jason and Frank. Percy choked out a sob, and fell to his knees, a warbled cry still stuck in his throat, "Annabeth!"
He thrashed, unable to escape the death grip the death gods children held on him. But neither of the two were prepared when Percy when limp, still keeping their hands clenched tightly along Percy's arms.
"Percy?" Hazel whispered, afraid that her friend was injured somehow, besides the fact that his girlfriend had just fallen into Tartarus.
"You couldn't just let me go after her?" Percy was sobbing, his voice muddled by tears, "You couldn't just let me?" Suddenly Percy screamed, an ear splitting-permanently-damaging-blood-curling scream that almost made Hazels ears bleed. Hazel tightened her grip along with Nico, prepared for Percy to attempt to throw himself into the of again.
The ground started to shatter, cracks forming in the webbed cavern floor and the walls started to shake and rubble crashed around them. Chunks of the floor started to fall out around them, and Hazek stumbled and nearly lost her grip on a thrashing Percy.
An eagle flew down next to Hazel and materlized into Frank and Hazel let out a cry of relief as Jason followed suit, floating down by Nico.
Jason grabbed Percy, to which Percy turned his head an bit Jason on his hand, trying to free himself. Jason let out a gasp of pain but held tight as he launched into the air, taking the screaming demigod with him.
A look of determination and pain flickered across Franks face for a moment as scales began to erupt across his body. Wings bust from his back and his fingers sharpened and scaled into talons.
Now a dragon, Frank picked up the both of them. One in each hand, Hazel sighed in relief alongside her brother as Frank shot up and out of the cavern.
But once the three landed on the ship they realized they might've been better off in the cavern.
Coach Hedge and Jason had tackled Percy and were struggling to pin the sobbing demigod to the ground.Water pipes had burst, and the entire deck was flooded and churning with immature waves as Percy fought back against the two.
Piper, sliding throughout the flooded deck was holding a syringe in her hand. Percy seemed to sesnse her intentions because the water kept crashing at her feet and she fell twice before managing to stab the needle in his leg.
Percy's struggles began to slow down and his cries weaker, and Jason and Hedge climbed off him. Percy lay flat in the water slowly moving and letting out small cries, and choking out tears.
Hazel's heart wanted to break when he choked out, "Annabeth." With a sob before his head hit the deck.
